I agree, they had a pretty bad squad this year. When Carlos went down, I thought they were gonna pack it in, but even without their best player, they managed to get deeper into the playoffs than the Cubs, who royally suck donkey balls.
When the Sox revamp the squad and get Thome, Konerko and Uribe out of there, they should have a decent squad.

Well they lasted longer than the cubs and the cubs won 97 games, biggest choke 2 years running. The Sox had to battle since July to make the playoffs, and most thought they wouldn't make it. A lot of cubs fans were making WS plans in July. Sure, I would have liked the Sox to go a bit further but they ran into a better team. The scrubs on the other hand got swept by a team that was sub .500 as later as August.

"man i care in all also", what kind of jibberish was that? Sox did lose but lasted longer than the scrubs, so I'm ok.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any front page stories in the Trib about Sox fans suing each other for World Series tickets.
Note to Cub fans - Don't sue your friends over World Series tickets, you'll end up without the tickets because the Cubs will never make it and you'll end up without friends because no one wants to be friends with some asshole who sues them.

Scott....what does Cubs fans views of life have to do with whether the Sox suck or not? I could care less if most of the Sox fans had written their team off early in the season and now feel that they overachieved. That has absolutely nothing to do with whether the Sox suck or not. Well they lasted longer than the cubs and the cubs won 97 games, biggest choke 2 years running. The Sox had to battle bince July to make the playoffs, and most thought they wouldn't make it. Um, they both got beat out in the first round. How do you qualify that as going "deeper" into the playoffs? If an NCAA game goes into overtime, does that mean those teams went "deeper" into the tournament?

A lot of cubs fans were making WS plans in July. Who are all these alleged fans I always hear about?? They sure as hell aren't on these boards. Most Cub fans I know are pretty damn humbled...

It's the 'little brother' syndrome again. Uh, the Sox won a game. The Cubs didn't, hence the Sox went deeper. In case you haven't checked, the Sox have won a playoff game in the past five years, the Cubs haven't. The Sox aren't the Cubs' little brother. The Sox's place in the history of baseball is far more important than the Cubs, liberal hippie Sox haters on a witch hunt almost killed the league. The only thing the Cubs have ever done is watched Babe Ruth's called shot sail over their heads.

Hawkeye101....maybe you should take English 101....you probably meant "couldn't care less" and anyway nobody had written off anything. It speaks volumes to me when a club does more with less which is what the Sox did this year. The cubs did less with more.

You're absolutely right in that the Sox won one game in the ALDS and the Cubs won none of their games.
If you want to hang your hat on how that makes the Cubs suck and the Sox rule, go for it. It's pretty lame by my standards but if it helps you sleep better at night to think that way, I have no problem with it.
Neither of these teams did a particularly good job in the post season. In fact, they both sucked pretty bad, but that's how it goes sometimes.

I never once said the Sox rule. Obviously they didn't this year or else they would still be playing. They did rule in 2005 though.

Claiming the Sox went deeper then the Cubs in the playoffs is like McCarney saying ISU won the second half in a 49-10 blowout.

What you said was so GD dumb and has nothing to do with this discussion. Anyway, Cubs eliminated on 10/4 without winning a single game...Sox eliminated on 10/6 after winning 1 game. October 6th falls after October 4th (every year). So, 1st graders, the Sox went deeper into October thus deeper into the playoffs. Now, your homework is to all go and suck the dick of Fukudome like you were doing in the first 2 weeks of the season before be became an average joe who got benched. Peace.

Or you could just admit that neither team advanced past the first round of the playoffs and we'll call it even. The Cubs absolutely choked. The real difference between the White Sox and the Cubs is that people cared about the Cubs choking. I also find it beyond hysterical how much pride you are taking in winning just one game in the playoffs. Way to go buddy! You still suck! WOOHOOOO!!!! And as for the Fukudome stuff, I don't believe ANY of us were posting his daily stats in the way you were with AJ McDouchebag. I would guess the only reason AJ hasn't been killed by his teammates is because they don't think it a good in game strategy to just put up a brick wall behind home plate and let the ball bounce all over the place...though it might actually be an upgrade in the clubhouse.

And claiming the Sox went deeper isn't fucking dumb either? And using dates is even dumber as the Sox started on 10/2 instead of 10/1 when the Cubs started so of course they will play one day later even if they would have been swept you dumbass. The original point I was trying to make that went over your head was it doesn't matter how many games each played as they both went out in the Divisional Series and neither made the LCS.
