I say all of this as a die-hard Obama supporter bince his DNC speech in 2004, but man, it’s really sad that we can’t have that John McCain – the old John McCain… he seems sooooo much more natural and comfortable (and in a roomful of Manhattan dems, too!). And he’s funny – watching that makes me want to like him. I’m glad to see that selling his soul hasn’t totally destroyed him, even if it has most likely destroyed his career. It’s a shame. Like with Bob Dole, I get the sense that deep down he’s really an ok person (certainly not evil, like Bush, Cheney, Rove, et al), but just sorta’ got lost along the way, ya know?
Anyway. He really is funny. That was a great speech/roast.
