under the Obama-Biden plan Well, that sure as shit sounds better than "You will get soaked with a tax hike under the Obama-Biden plan." After reading that reassuring message, I guess I was wrong about Obama. taxcut.barackobama.com/

Actually, it appears I would get enough of a savings (supposedly) to offset my 10% increase on my mortgage payment.

Why's your mortgage payment going up? Property tax hike to subsidize road construction for the new Dahl's?

You will probably not get a tax cut under the Obama-Biden plan.

I will say though that it finally appears that they are starting to lay down the foundations of what appears to be a real road. Hopefully it will be done by the end of the year (wishfull thinking).

Call me a crazy nutjob conservative, but if a business or person needs to fundamentally change infrastructure in an area to utilize their property, the person or business who needs the change should bear the burden of paying for it. Oh well, at least 99% of the people who use that Dahl's will get those benefits without incurring any cost for them. It's a good thing your damages are small enough to make it cost ineffective for you to hire a lawyer to try to stand up for your rights.

Wait, that road still ain't done? Jesus Christ, what the fuck are they doing? The speed at which construction goes in Iowa is mind boggling. My last semester of law school I was living in Chi and rolling back for class and crashing on barber's couch a few nights a week. They seriously built a 50 story luxury apartment building right across the street from my apartment faster than they put up a 4 story open air parking garage by the Fieldhouse. It's like they take union guys and then turn them down two or three speeds over in Iowa.

"It's a good thing your damages are small enough to make it cost ineffective for you to hire a lawyer to try to stand up for your rights." --- That's where they really have us by the balls. I'm hoping to call my escrow company to verify that it is actual city tax first. Then I'm hoping one of my brother's wealthy friends is an attorney.
"I will say though that it finally appears that they are starting to lay down the foundations of what appears to be a real road. Hopefully it will be done by the end of the year (wishfull thinking). "
I got a cheese dick e-mail back from some administrative assistant from the city that they had been held up by bad weather, but if it didn't rain this week, they should be done this week.
It's fucking beautiful outside, and as of 12:20 (when my wife leaves for work), nobody was around. There hasn't been a drop of rain all week...no way it gets done. I doubt it will be ready at the end of next week.

I probably burn more calories a week in my cubicle than they do "working" construction.

Granted they were making some improvments to the water lines too but, goddamn. There are always at least half of the guys just standing around watching the other half, stereotypical government workers.

My buddy (non-union) almost got fired from a union construction job for carrying 2 2X4s at once instead of one at a time to maximize the time put into the job.
