The missed FG, the missed block on the defensive touchdown and the prayer 50 yard touchdown Juice threw were the three plays that decided the game. I was not a big fan of the three down linemen on the last drive, but all in all, I can't really blame the coaching too much for this loss. We just fucked up a few key plays. 4 losses by a total of 12 points is a real zinger.
Autolykos brought his portable breathalyzer to the game and I registered a .26 at halftime, and then get this, when the game was over, an Illini fan called me something I have never been called before, a good sport.
Man, they've got a lot of fair weather fans there. And they're almost all blue hairs, it was seriously like an Iowa basketball game.

Ya, I really didn't have too many compaints about the coaching. It seems like everyone is Nate fucking Kaeding when they play Iowa (see Iowa State last year). Red zone offense is killing us.
As the prank caller says..."FUCK".

Missed Opportunities in the first half really fucked us over. Iowa the whole fucking year, not just the loses has been horrundous inside the redzone. Its so freaken messed up because this team is built for the redzone offense. Just unfreakenreal.

Have we converted a 3rd down at all in the past 2 years? It sure doesn't seem like it.

Redzone killed us. I'm not a smart man, but when you have a QB that throws so much better on the move, why not roll him out at all.....sorry more than once. The only designed roll-out all year was on the 2-pt conversion. I understand that the bootlegs in PAP are are designed to get him on the rolling, but why not move the pocket in a situation where he can see the field from the start and be able to utilize a quick passing attack....3 step drops....PAP takes so long to develop when the D has seen it the entire game.....I feel better letting that out.....I hate to be so pessimistic, but it kills me when Iowa can be so competitive with that many mistakes!!!

2 BT wins- Stanzi 0 TO's 3 BT losses- Stanzi 8 TO's Hopefully these ladies will cheer you up: I know what your saying about the TO's, but I don't think those were killers like his previous ones against NW and MSU the one really didn't matter as it was the INT thrown at the end of the game and Iowa wasn't going 50 yards with one timeout left in under 20 seconds to get a chance at a tying FG and the fumble was caused by getting run over by a truck on his blindside. That fumble was on the OL not Stanzi. The other INT he threw was a killer as I think it was the very next play after Iowa had just picked off Juicy Fruit.

In all seriousness, when you are 3rd and 15 on your own 5 yard line, why are we are play-action passing? All that is being accomplished is a few less seconds for Stanzi to look down field for receivers. If a LB or SS is getting fooled on a PAP on 3rd and 15 at the goal line, they don't deserve to be playing college football. Ken Keefe is fucking idiot and it showed again. 3 step drops will work on short slant patterns. Stanzi missed Greene as a screen outlet multiple times and instead took sacks. Our O-Line did not play very well overall.

I think the bottom line is that you need to score points to beat Illinois. They have talent, and will get some points. We didn't score our first TD until late in the game, really. That just doesn't get it done, and is part of an overall pattern under KOK and KF. We're generally a shitty road team (one win last year, and one win this year--against Indiana without their QB). We play like we're on Valium in the first quarter in road games. It's just the way it is under Kirk and Ken these days.

Unacceptable. This team will end up 6-6 more than likely and be lucky to go to Detroit. They must upset Penn State to salvage anything.
