I was going to respond to a message that mentioned Jake but I thought this deserved it's own thread for everyone's thoughts.
I know a lot of people like to hate on him for his play but I have been really impressed with him on the sideline after being benched. He still might leave at the end of the year but I am really glad that he has taken the high road and been the good teammate to Stanzi and helped him improve whether it be pointing out things he saw the Defense doing or just giving the team his support.
I know it can't be easy for him to see the success that Stanzi is having back their but he could have turned into a real asswipe and pouted on the sidelines the rest of the year.
He might not have turned out to be the great QB that everyone thought he was going to be coming in but from what I have heard and seen he at the very least has turned into a great teammate and that is something that is very impressive.

There's no reason to hate on Jake. He has sweat and bled for the Hawkeyes (not to mention help recruit). I completely agree with everything you've stated, Hoffa. If you want to be pissed about JC playing, at least direct it at the coaches.

All indications are he is being the ultimate team mate. I've never seen sideline shots of him being sullen, withdrawn or a detriment to the team.
That had to be really tough. I don't know that I personally would've handled that very well. In my view, he's handled himself extremely well and I actually have more positive feelings about him now then when he was playing.

Well, on the field he did leave a bit to be desired, but off the field, I think he's been the consummate teammate. That I have great respect for.
I think he can see that he's not NFL caliber material and I have a feeling that he won't transfer, but instead has already started to hone in on his coaching skills. That's his future.
I'd like to see the kid stay around next year.

I'm pretty sure we're seeing KOK's replacement in 10 years.
Jake is a stand-up Hawkeye.

If JC was OC, would the Hawks have burned all 3 timeouts in the first quarter?

That asshole receiver could have done Jake a favor and caught that perfectly thrown pass.

JC is taking this 100000% better than his dad, who apparently is acting like a complete jackass.
