That is not good. Glad to hear that whatever it was he did, he self reported to Coach rather than letting the media do it for him.

Hawkeyenation is saying it was an alcohol issue.
From what I have read (very little) there has not been mention of John Q Law being involved, that at least is good. Stupid IC cops...
This is lame, our b-ball team needs all the help it can get, especially going into this week against UNI and I-STATE.
Hopefully, everything will be straighten out by the first of the year for the Ohio State game.

The Nation rumors are saying passed out in an alley behind a bar, went to the hospital for stomach pumping. Still nothing "official" from the media. Must not have been any police involved or it would have been out long ago.

According to HN there weren't any police because he was passed out and unable to take a breathalizer. So i'm guessing the hospital gave the police the report(not sure) and he had until tonight to turn himself in to the cop shop for booking. This sucks. If this goes anything like bohall he won't see significant playing time for the rest of the year.

Good point, Matta. This sounds like Bohall Part Deux.

I was thinking about this....I am sure that old boy didnt go out looking to get shit faced.
I am sure he just went down town to look around, maybe walk through a couple places and try to get his dick wet and have a see the town.
However, he is recognizable person on campus. I would imagine any number of people would be willing to purchase him a beer/shot.
These people may or may not tell him what is in the drink they bought him, or how much alcohol is in it. Once you get a few in you, you have two or five mystery shots. An underexperienced drinker is all of a sudden good and fucked up.
This can be compared to what happened to our good friend Itheus (Larry Sellars) who is one of the more experienced drinkers I know. At the tailgate, He had a couple of strong Crown shots, a mysteriously strong Bloody Mary and a couple of beers. Next thing we know, he is in jail and his wife is enjoying the football game without him. The last thing that Itheus wanted was to miss the Iowa Football game. Just the same as the last thing Tucker wanted was to pass out behind a bar in downtown IC, and get in trouble with his coach.
My point is, alcohol has a way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it.
P.S. To bad he didnt go to the Gym instead.

Nor have I, although the one time that my friend got his stomach pumped in High school, the cops came to my house and talked to me about it later in the night. (My parents were not happy, although i personally did not get in trouble)
so perhaps this is true.

I am just going to take a guess and say that since he had his stomach pumped for suspected alcohol poisoning and the fact he was a minor, they made a call to the gestapo. I will admit though, while it puts a hurting on the BB team, I like the way lickliter handles it. If AT is out for say, a month or so, before he starts working his way back into the starting rotation hopefully the other kids will get the idea that Lick means business on this issue and be more careful. For crying out loud, whatever happened to getting drunk with a few friends in your dorm room or going to a friends house off-campus, getting hammered and staying the night at his place?

Alcohol does have a way of sneeking up on you, but it wasn't forced down my or Mr. Tucker's throat. The sad thing here is that he was found in an alley. Where were his "friends"? Unless he kind of wandered off in a drunken stupor...which happens.

A lot of rumors out there, but one thing is true - this is nothing like the Bohall situation.
Expect Tuck to get the next 4-5 games off.

Is it not like the Bohall situation because Tucker is actually good and contributes to the team? No,because this one didn't include the cops or any sort of arrest. And Tucker called Lickliter when it happened, he didn't find out through the media. And Tucker is frosh, Bohall wasn't.

What the fuck, Tuck.
If you're drinking so much that you pass out in public and require a stomach pumping, you've got some fucking issues. A little counseling might be in order here.
I've drank a lot, a LOT of beer and booze in my day. A LOT. And I've never done that shit.
Although I did get turned around and walk out of the Iowa City city limits once after organic chem finals. But I didn't pass out, and I didn't get my stomach pumped.

Except he did get charged with public intox. I do think Tuck being the first one to tell Lick about it will help him out quite a bit and the fact that he's a Frosh. I say he's out till the Big Ten season starts.

Except he did get charged with public intox. I do think Tuck being the first one to tell Lick about it will help him out quite a bit and the fact that he's a Frosh. I say he's out till the Big Ten season starts. In Rob Howes interview with Lick he said that Tucker telling him about it before hand probably wouldn't play any part in a reduction of the suspension. I would say, IMO, that this is alot like Bohalls situation. They were both passed out drunk and that don't look good to the big guy no matter where it happens or whom it happens too. The only reason, according to the article on HN, that Tucker wasn't arrested is because he was passed out and unable to take a breathalyzer test. The cops didn't tell Lick what happened because there wasn't nothing official to report yet, like an arrest. So Tuck had all day to tell the Lick about it, at least up until he was arrested.

Judging by last night...not much of a blow.
If that second half was a preview of LickBall, well, sign me up.

They are reporting on Hawkeye nation that Tucker will practice today. Perhaps he will get to play against Drake?
Eithe way this is good news and he most likely will see time against Ohio state for the start of the BIG Ten Season.
