Working Day After XMAS Thread

How many of you poor saps are working today?

My day started off very shitty, but has brightend considerably. I had to drive from my home town back to Des Moines at 5 am this morning, in icy ass conditions, in order to be at work at 7:30.

But, things quickly improved due to the fact that I have just been approved to get the fuck out of here at 11 AM, instead of my normal 6 PM. So, I only actually had to work for 3 1/2 hours (very nice). And, in an even cooler twist to the previously suck-my-balls day that laid before me, I just found out that my favorite (living) band (Slightly Stoopid) is playing in St. Louis on March 19th (my birthday). I already lined up a four day weekend, for my birthday, when we bid for 2009 vacation last week. Should be a pretty sweet trip to the land of the Suckinals!

BTW, hope everyone had a great XMAS.

That sucks, by the time I get to work, you'll be leaving.

Hopefully it will be slow enough so I can leave at 5...but it's doubtful.

I'm at work today. I have spent the better part of my time here checking Outback Bowl ticket prices and flight costs to Tampa. I'm thinking of asking Ma if I can make the trip down. Too bad she has to work, I think she'd have a great time getting out of crappy ass Chicago for a few days. The weather has sucked balls for 2 weeks straight.

I am working, I only have to work until 2 though. So that kinda kicks ass.

I had to work today. Then they told us we had to leave at 11. I wasn't happy about it. I skipped christmas at my grandparents last night and came back home because of the impending freezing rain and didn't want to get stuck and have to stay at my parents last night. So I missed seeing a bunch of my cousins that I see only a couple of times a year to go to work where they ended up not needing us and sending us home.

at least you get to go home though. Better than being at work
