No big surprise there.

nope. but it's going to take a while for me to absorb what he really did this year. Craziness.

He's a Hawkeye legend, some of his carries this year will be replayed forever, simply amazing

How bad do you guys think we will miss him? The dude was obviously a beast this season and he had some runs that were all his own making, but that O-line was god damn good, there were a lot of plays where the RB (Jewel or Shonn) wasn't touched until they were several yards past the line of scrimmage. We've got some serious talent coming back on the O-line and if they continue to improve, I think the combo of Hampton and Brinson (with Wegher mixed in as well) can put up close to 2000 yards next year as well, especially if Stanzi can play that nice ball control offense he played today that will keep teams from loading up the box.

When Kaczenski was a G.A., he helped Reese Morgan with the o-line. After he took the d-line job, Ferentz stepped in to help Morgan out with the line. I think the result of more time with KF is obvious.

I think Hampton showed us a lot in the 4th quarter yesterday. It's obvious he's young, but I think he can be a productive 1st string back for us.
Couldn't agree more with the praise for the O-line. They absolutely dominated one of the better defenses in the SEC for the majority of the day. Just a great all around win yesterday for the Hawks.
Sad to see Shonn go, but who can blame him? What else does he have left to prove in college?
My phone kept going off yesterday with people curious about KF leaving for Cleveland or wherever Pioli ends up as GM. I keep telling them he's happy in Iowa and isn't going anywhere, and they keep arguing about "the allure of the NFL".
If the "allure" is going to Cleveland and running that joke of a franchise, I'd rather kick it in Iowa City with a solid situation and a pretty fat paycheck.

I think our running game will suffer a bit next year; however, I think the overall offense will be better next year as long as Stanzi stays healthy. Defense will be about the same, maybe a bit down and special teams should be better. There will be no excuse not to finish top 3 in the Big 10 year next year.

Luckily, O'Keefe has a track record of making returning QBs awesome during the offseason. Tate and Christensen showed massive offseason improvement under O'Keefe's tutelage. With Ken there, Stanzi will be the best QB in the B10 next season.

I'd say that he was a very good running back with an offensive line. I loved watching him take on the other team every tackle. Will he be successful at the next level? I'd say he will be average. Not sure how good his hands are and he seemed to get hurt a lot then come back in after shaking it off. Good tough running, but may shorten his career. Can't say I blame him though in reaching for the ring. Good to see another Iowa player moving up.
The game was great to watch, enjoy watching the SEC suffer at our hands.

As long as guys step up for Brugg and Olson I think our running game will do just fine.
I am looking forward to seeing Brinson on the field (from what I have heard he should be a good one) and it will also be interesting to see what KOK does with Wegher.
