Who takes his seat?
Also, there is no way this was on his terms if it was he would have announced it at the beginning of the year or at the very least at the Outback Bowl game.
Such BS.

It's as most a part-time job, so it's probably going to be someone who is reasonably local, ex-hawk who wants to do it as a side-gig.

Ed lived in Colorado and California for the past couple of decades, so I don't think being local will have much to do with it as long as they have the desire. I don't think Ed got rich of these broadcasts, last I heard it was something like $1,000/game plus travel expenses.
Ed did it because he loved the Hawks, and loved traveling with Hawkeye fans.
The next time I'm tanked up and see some Clown fan pull his camera phone out, it is going to be hard to refrain from punching the fucktard in the face.

God has already beaten the Clown fans with the stupid stick, so you don't need to punch them. If that really was a Clown fan who took the picture (I know it ended up on a Clown blog), how fucking pathetic is that? "My team is so shitty that it didn't make a bowl game and so I am going to piss in the Hawks' Cheerios because I'm a little bitch." God damn, I hate the fucking Clowns.

Sounds like there is hope Ed may be color commentating next year after all. As much a support his right to party, he would be taking the high road if his intent for treatment is to get back in the booth. www.kcci.com/sports/18584239/detail.html

I hope this isn't a Brett Favre situation......
J/K of course. I'm glad that he is going to get his problem taken care of.

This doesn't really change my original stance...
However, if his friends and family were urging him to go, I am happy is getting things straightened out. There are more important things in life than sports (though not too many!).

I guess I don't follow what you are trying to say.

It's quite another if friends and family are asking him to go...they know him the best and have his best intentions in mind.
