This is really the first time I've cared about a baseball player using steroids. I actually kind of like him and was waiting for him to take the HR record from Bonds. This really tarnishes the game for me. Sucks. Why is he the only name that was leaked out of the 103 others though. Fishy???

This whole last 10-20 years of baseball is tarnished. I still love the Cubs and will follow it, but almost think there should be an asterics by any record that was set in that time frame...

I am in the same boat. I thought about not paying attention but it will be hard to do. I've actually been paying more the last couple of years. It would be too hard for me to stay away, especially since fantasy baseball may be my favorite fantasy sport. I think it has been getting cleaner that it has been, but it is still obviously not as clean as it should be.

I agree that steroids is a huge scar on the game of baseball, but in 50 years, I think we'll look back and view this period as the steroids era, much in the same way as we view the deadball era, or the era where pitcher's dominated with the high mound.

There are MAYBE half a dozen to a dozen players out there as big or bigger than A-rod is.

I don't know who would be bigger off hand. I haven't followed BB seriously for at least 3 or 4 years. There has to be someone, there always is. I bet is was a former teammate, friend, trainer etc. Has to be someone that has first hand knowledge; ie seen it happen, injected it, gave it to him etc.

Hey retards, don't forget you live in a world that is desinged to fuck one another over in order to advance your position. The only reason this didn't come to light when it happened is because times were good and we were riding on high anxiety with terrorist threats and all, God forbid the epicenter of baseball who is A Rod with his record breaking contracts would garnish any negative attention.
Wake up you stupid fucks, the New York Yankee payroll is a huge slap in the face to the working man. It is so overblown and disproportionate to what the average man (and I'm not even talking about the laughable, pieces of massive shit with their enormous numbers proles) could not even imagine.
Honestly, I could give a flying fuck about A Rod, Zambrano, Podsednik, Ramirez, or whoever. Let's get real country, If you want to piss away what you have, you welcome your own demise.

I think all this crap imporves the chances of guys like Frank Thomas and Jim Thome to make the HOF, power hitters with great numbers that have never been linked to Roids.

I'm probably one of the few that doesn't care about baseball players using steroids or the "Steroids Era" itself. The way I see it the playing field was level since a lot of the players were using something (whether it has been revealed by test or not I still think over 50% were). Until 2004 there were no tests or penalties for using PED's so they weren't breaking the rules. After 2004 would be a different story.

I'd buy that if you didn't have people towards the end of their career jacking 60+ homeruns. Those seasons happened prior to the testing policy in 2004. Again, I believe there was a level playing field at that time. However, I do understand your point.

Even though there weren't tests or penalties for using, they're still breaking the rules because steroids aren't legal to obtain or use regardless of what baseball says.

Then explain to me how you can go to the doctor and get a prescription for steroids to help build your strength back after a debilitating illness/injury. If A-Rod, or any other player or doctor/supplier, has admitted to using/distributing steroids the government should prosecute them. If Canseco didn't write his book no one would have cared about steroids in baseball. Sure people had a feeling that players were using but it wasn't a big deal until the book came out.

Yes, they should be prosecuted, although prosecution for drugs almost always requires possession. But make no mistake, these overpaid cocksuckers were indeed engaged in patently illegal activity when they procured and possessed the expressly illegal anabolic steroids.

It's not an over-the-counter drug. As you stated, you need a Rx to obtain them. The fact that baseball didn't ban it until 2004, doesn't make it right to use it. They're illegal, period. They cheated baseball and themselves. Steroids aren't meant to help you blast a HR, they are supposed to help you rehabilitate from an injury and to strengthen yourself after injury. I'm a huge baseball fan. It's my favorite sport to play, watch and follow, but I don't defend the "professionals" who cheat the game.
