What's the problem Germaine? The weather has been great, sunny skies.
You should have a big 'ol smile of your face.

have a serious case of the blahs. Look on the bright side that's a lot better then having a serious case of herpes.

What's the problem Germaine? The weather has been great, sunny skies. You should have a big 'ol smile of your face. I should. And yes, I am very happy I don't have herpes or any sort of case of AIDS. Outside of washing and waxing my car, I haven't really been able to enjoy the weather because of work, running errands, and being sick. I plan to spend some time outside this evening, though...walks in 35 degree weather are quite nice. It just sort of feels like everybody's lives are going on while I'm stuck in the same spot. Any sort of elaboration just seems like whining and miring, so I'll spare y'all. I think I just need to let out a major sigh and be done with it.

Try doing something new. Recommend a boxing class. Take your frustrations out on a sand filled leather bag.

The boxing thing would be fun. I'd be out of breath in 2 minutes because my upper body strength would make Urkel laugh, but it'd be fun.

I'm definitely fortunate...stable job (as far as I can tell), decent money (once my car is paid off, I can get by on 50-60% of what I make). I'm just feeling very much alone, I guess...hardly see my friends, I can't even find anybody to go to the game with me on Saturday. Ah well.

We need to find Germaine a man, pure and simple. I would suggest hitting any singles dances in your area for Valentines day. That is where I met my wife.

We need to find Germaine a man, pure and simple. While I'm certainly not opposed to the idea (and it would be nice to make dinner for 2 instead of 1), I tend not to believe that finding a significant other will cure what ails ya. I just want a few people in my life who I can hang out with and have similar interests. A Carrie, Samantha, and Miranda to my Charlotte. There's apparently a V-Day swing dance at Old Brick tomorrow night. I love dancing...not really a place to meet single, straight men...but we'll see.

Get a kid who won't let you sleep for shit and you'll learn to embrace singleness. All of my college friends are gone, which sucks, but I'd never see 'em anymore anyway given my current condition.
For crissakes I can't even drink a goddamn beer anymore without feeling it. Still, I love the little critter and wouldn't trade her for all of the crazy-ass bar slamming in the world.
What I'm saying is don't sweat it, and don't rush it. Life has phases, enjoy them.

My brother is single also and usually depressed etc. He don't want to be alone but he dug his own grave by being to picky with women while in his 20's, 30's. Now he is 41 and still wants to have 1 or 2 kids but his options look bleak at best. Doesn't really have any friends that are close but does have people he gets together with on special occasions, Super Bowl, Hawks Bowl game etc. As far as finding friends we know a bunch of people that didn't have any friends when they were single or newly married until their kids got into school and they started hanging out with parents their age. My wife and I have been playing it "low key" for a couple of years, that's code for we are home bodies, lol, but we intend to start joining and doing more stuff this summer or fall.

Germaine, you should just join World of Warcraft.
Sounds like your being a little to hard on yourself. If you are finding that you are spending time bored alone then go work out, pick up a new hobby, whatever. I've met you and your definately a good enough girl if you don't have to be single if you don't want to be.
I'd also suggest not trying to give a fuck about this kind of thing and just have fun doing whatever. Focusing too much on what you are lacking can lead to a dangerous downward spiral. I've been there before and pray I never go back.

No way, it's way worse for young ladies in the city. Chicago has way more single women than men. I know dozens of young ladies who are single and desperately looking. I know of ZERO young men in the same situation. Most guys who aren't married by 32 or so aren't desperately looking to get married. Gals, on the other hand, a whole different ballgame.

I don't want weirdos looking at my pictures and stuff...unless they're weirdos I know. A friend is sort of non-setting me up with a guy who works in her building (same company) and he's going to the game with me. I sort of know him, but we've never been formally introduced. And he's never been to Carver (he moved here not terribly long ago from Virginia).
