I typed this one myself so if I have spelling errors I will own up to them. Just sent this minutes ago.
President Obama,
My email today is about my “representative” from Iowa. I emailed Tom Harkin 5 business days ago with some feelings I have about some policies. I asked for a response; however I did not receive one. I’m quite disappointed. What is the point of having elected “representatives” if they won’t communicate with the people they are representing? My email may have been emotional and a bit gruff; however does that mean that I don’t deserve a response. I guess I rise out of bed every morning and go to work and I’m not one of the poor, so Democrats don’t care about me. Perhaps if you could contact Senator Harkin and see if his internet has been down, or has a virus in his computer that prohibits access to email.
Thank you,
Herkyp

Dear herkyp:
You may redress your grievances once every few years at the ballot box. In the meantime, enjoy the low interest rate your bank will pay you on your savings and the near double digit inflation that will take hold within the next two years and destroy your net worth.
Thank you,
BTR

Dear herkyp,
I'm glad you're becoming more involved in civics, but you should start your venture into this world by first reading the U.S. Constitution.
You will find amazing amounts of information on how our government is laid out.
You see, as President, I am part of what's called the Executive Branch of government. The Constitution I spoke of specifically designed this branch of government to be an equal - yet, separate entity from the Legislative branch in which your Senator Harkin resides.
Now in the instance of the Vice President, Joe Biden may be slightly different if we were to follow the precedent set by the previous administration. They argued that as the Constitution names the Vice President as the "President" of the U.S. Senate, he was in a sort of political branch limbo... not "Executive" and not "Legislative". Most cited this as a smokescreen to prevent subpoenas for unconstitutional acts........ but I digress.
So you should write to Vice President Biden if you want to have any say over a senator, as the Cheney precedent may allow Joe to have more sway than I can.
Good Luck,
President Barack Obama
ps - did you figure out what colored dress you will be wearing on forced Gay Marriage/Gun Confiscation day?

You managed, yet again, to provide nothing but he said she said documentation about the validity of his birth certificate. It is sealed in Hawaii and we want to see it.

Hawaii isn't going anywhere in a hurry. ps--- if, as you say, it's "sealed in Hawaii"... doesn't that answer your troublesome question?

What will it take for you right-wing, elitist, hateful, ignorant jackasses to let it go? He's legit. He won... handily. I learned the concept of "scoreboard" in first grade. Why didn't you? Did you drop out of school by that time so you could help Pappy dig the bomb shelter and hide the guns? Your hero "W" was the worst POTUS ever and how many liberties did HE take away? Does the "Patriot Act" ring a bell with you? Oh, but W is a gun-slingin', straight-shooting cowboy! No damned way would he be responsible for some liberal move like that! Goddamn some people are so clueless.

Whatever anyone's opinion on The Patriot Act is, it was passed in the Democrat controlled Senate(98-0) and in the Republican controlled House(357-66). Write your Congressman. Agree with your last sentence though.

Thank you, Herkyp I guess all of those union folks who support Democrats don't get up and go to work every morning. You're welcome to that (assbrained) opinion; I'd suggest that you go to the local Steelworker's shop and express it. Fucking putz. Do you really think that a United States Senator has the time to reply to your childish rant in the midst of the crises we face? Really? You greatly overestimate your importance to this planet.

All of the dissenting voters in the Senate were either Dem or Independent. In the House, it only passed by a score of 280-138. educate-yourself.org/cn/patriotact20012006senatevote.shtmlYes, I know that Obama voted FOR the renewal in 2006. That is a strike against him in my mind. Also, it's interesting to note who CONCEIVED the "Patriot" Act. John Ashcroft. A dirty, stinking, GOPer from Missourah. So after all of this... my point is still valid.

Sure it is, Gumby! Sure it is. It only passed the House by 142 votes. That was close. I thought you said that Dubya was the one taking liberties away. How did he vote? Patriot Act Supporter and Liberty Stifler, Obambya, wishes he had this bipartisanship in passing his agenda. You forgot to mention that the Senate vote was another close one (89-10).

You forgot to mention that the Senate vote was another close one (89-10). #1) I never said if it was close or not. My point was that by the time 2006 rolled around and it was revealed to be a POS Act, the GOP had control. "No" votes came largely from the Dems, but it was pointless by then. #2) I acknowledged that Obama voted for it. And that I didn't like that he voted for it. #3) It was conceived by a fuckwit, died-in-the-wool GOPer from a Confederate state. (Ashcroft) Supporting my disdain for the GOP. Do I need to draw you a picture?

No picture neccessary. I get that you're a doofus.
Edit: How soon do you think that The Patriot Act will be repealed now that the democrats have commanding majorities in both houses? Will they go against Obambya?

Do I think Harkin was going to run into the senate with a copy of my email and try to get people to listen to me?? No. My questions to the wasteland are simple. Does any one really think more spending is the answer to the crisis?? Does the idea of cutting taxes across the board to keep more money in the economy not seem like the right course of action?? I'm curious to hear what all the libs think is the way out.

He could propose closing military bases, NASA, Oak Ridge, funding grants for universities, etc. if you'd like... as they obviously don't provide an iota to the local or national economies. One of the many things you fail to understand --- is that people are doing what they should have been doing all along. Saving their money/paying off debt. Any spending done by the government is a direct injection into the economy.
