I have severe time constraints, so my weight training is comprised entirely of "descenders." It's a program I created. Essentially, you start out with the heaviest weight you can, and move down ten pounds each set, no rest. You do a max of ten sets. At the end of the exercise, you move the weight to the midpoint and do five reps where you hold for two seconds in the middle of the contraction and the extension. Each exercise takes about 3-4 minutes. You can get a complete weight training session done in 20 minutes. I'm stronger than ever, I don't get injured, and I still have time for some cardio. Maybe I should patent that shit. Not to steal your 'thunder', but that's a pretty common method for some weightlifters...that and compound sets. Who knows though, maybe it's not actually patented though! Yeah, I learned it from a football player...but I think I've taken it a step further...out of pure necessity. Worked better than the old "pyramid" bullshit everybody used to sell.

I did P90 a couple years ago when it was called Power 90. It's a pretty good workout but I just can't bring myself to stand in front of the TV and do the movements. I'd rather just run and hit the gym. A healthy diet is the biggest key to weight loss. It's a simple as burning more calories than you take in every day. Also, not drinking booze can really help. I'd probably weigh about 15 lbs less if I didn't drink every weekend.

Itheus, I know your response to this question before i type it.....
That being said, why dont you join us in the basketball gym a couple nights a week. We all suck balls and are all good friends so you wont be harrassed or "schooled" as the kids say.
Even if you are no good at basketball, all you would have to do is rebound and play defense in the middle (read: push people away from the basket) You might enjoy it. Just be a big brusier man.
It is a nice change from stand on a machine and staring at the wall while you work out for 30 minutes.
I have told you about the size of the gym we play in. The three point line at the top of the key, is within a foot of the Half court circle. So its not like you running up and down the whole time.
TheJesus even joined us last week.

I just bought the Wii Fit last weekend. Haven't had much time to do it just yet. New job's been busy (as evidenced by my lack of participation here) and...well, I'm in the middle of Metroid right now and I'm finding that is taking up a boatload of time. Hoping to get the Wii Fit program started in the next week or two.

Wii Fit is a joke from what I've heard. It's actually not bad if you do it every day. It isn't going to work you like going to the gym but it is better then doing nothing.

I just bought 4 tickets to DMB here in Des Moines. Not even really that big of a fan but it would still be fun. I'm sure there will be alot of young trim there and pretty sure I could find people to buy the tickets since they aren't even on sale to the general public. Some dude on craigslist posted the pre sale password (which is "homerun" if anyone wants to know). I might just wait until August or September and try selling them online for no less than $125 a piece and just make some money off it.
