Just curious, I got my groceries at Wal Mart last nite so I guess that makes me pretty prolish. Thinking about upgrading my food shopping experience to a place like Dahl's or HyVee and getting a little bit of food at the nice "Food Market" type store. It's a nice feeling moving up the prole ladder.

We always go to Hy-Vee. I only go to Dahl's for late night beer runs because, well, I fucking hate Dahl's. They're wayyyy overpriced anyway.
Target doesn't have bad prices, either. I would go to Fareway for the meat department, but I don't think there's any close to me.

I'm pretty much only at Hy-Vee. Wal-mart is just too prolish for my tastes. If you have a Target with food, not a bad choice either, but they are fairly limited in their selection.
The Farmer's Market is great during the summer season for fresh vegetables and such. Of course, I prefer to grow my own and will have my own garden this summer.

Uh huh!....at your age Ron..."grow your own" has an entirely different meaning.

Hy-Vee and Fareway. I wish there was a Super Target in IC...though maybe it's just as well, because I would risk spending way too much there. I love ST.

My wife says the same thing and is one of the few things she hates about moving from CR to IC. We lived about 2 minutes away from the Super Target on the NE side. We usually go to Hy-Vee, every now and again my wife will go to Walmart and I will go to Hy-Vee for the Meat/chicken.

I had a Super-Target nearby when I lived in the Chicago burbs. Good and bad.
Good since you could go there a get multiple things all in one trip.
Bad....when you just want to pick up a couple of things from the regular Target side and you're behind a shit-load of people all with carts full of groceries. Kinda frustrating.
Overall, convenient and pretty nice.

Ma makes me shop at 4 places: Dominick's (general stuff), Fox & Obel (hoitee toitee "oh look at me I know how to use a fork and napkin and I don't stand over the sink when I eat" - fuckers), Trader Joe's Hippie Emporium (organic apples and carrots for the juicer) and Whole Foods Overpriced Hippie Emporium (makes me go when the weather is nice and she wants to go, pretty fucking long walk with a few bags of groceries, though).

Fareway usually, there is one just a block or two away. Sometimes Hy-vee, or Wal-mart. Though I hate stepping foot in that place.

But on the other hand, Hy-Vee's slogan used to be "Employee Owned" which leads me to believe they might be a bunch of socialists.

Not being in the midwest, I shop at Safeway. Every 4-6 weeks we'll do a Sam's Club run in Reno for the bulk items(not beef-a-roni) and once in awhile will hit Wally World(never meat or fruits though).

Oh, we go shopping for fruit and shit when we go back to the suburbs to visit the GF's parents. Valli's Produce is super cheap. We always get a shit ton of tangerine/elos, oranges, lemons/limes, apples. It is good stuff. Tangeloes/tangerines are $.10 each, and Fuji apples which can be upwards of $1.85/lb here can be found for under $.50 a pound. It is rediculous, and I love it, the fruit is good too.

Guys, to shop in a Commissary you have to have a military ID. The really nice thing about them, the meats are fantastic, and the international selection is amazing.

Any of you fellas ever hear of Alp's?
I lived right across the street from one when I lived in Lincoln, NE.
I'll just sum it up by saying that yes, there are indeed stores more prolish than Aldi's. Holy crap. You're better off trying to steal something from Walmart than to buy it at Alp's.

Having shoes, shirt, and clean pants on - we felt very overdressed.
