My youngest Daughter has invited me to Twitter with her, as have other people. Why? Is the ability to text, email, phone, etc. not enough? What exactly does Twitter offer that emailing and texting doesn't? Furthermore, is it the exact same thing? Too damn hard to keep up with a trend following world.

I would suggest staying away from it. I'm not sure you want it getting out in public that you are twittering your daughter.

That was pretty funny. Good to see you didn't take it the wrong way.
Regarding Twitter though, I'm just as clueless as you IaFan. I'm not even sure what the hell it is. My gut says I don't care though. I've heard alot of celebs are twittering now and I know that Al from Bleed Cubbie Blue has started doing it.

Seriously though, in my opinion if it is just you and your daughter don't waste your time, text will serve the same purpose. It is, basically just a method to update your status (ala facebook or myspace) so you can let everyone know that you had hotdogs for lunch, are watching a movie, or don't like getting up early. That's how most use it anyhow. I was lambasted for this opinion on the other site and labeled the guy who just got a cell phone because I didn't need one but now that I have one am on it all the time, which is definitely not the case. I do see some very viable commercial uses though to keep fans or users of certain products/groups updated on new releases/projects/what have you abreast of what is going on on a mass scale.

I sat out the MySpace trend... the FaceBook trend... and now the Twitter trend.
And somehow survived.
Perhaps I'll take part in the next trendy thing to do... I do believe Smurfing will be making a comeback.

Sounds as stupid and worthless as I thought.

That doesn't surprise me.
I have thought about it but I wouldn't know where the hell to begin. Plus my cell is DEAD.
I have been on MySpace but just to browse a couple times. Back when the FB players, dominick douglas etc, where getting into trouble.

There aren't too many people who are important, or interesting, enough to have their own twitter account. It is a great tool for attention whores though.

The fake Twitter pages are where its at. There's a Ron Zook one that HAS to have been set up by BHGP and a few others that are absolutely hysterical.
