Lawmakers can't throw religion at it because 1) separation of Church and state and 2) while the Bible does "define" a marriage as a man and woman it also says that everyone is equal in God's eye. This was huge on the equality front. This is one of the few "liberal" issues that I actually agree with. |

This was huge on the equality front. This is one of the few "liberal" issues that I actually agree with. They can't overcome the equal protection argument. I've been saying for years that gay marriage was gonna happen precisely because of the equal protection problem. The first and fourteenth amendments compel this outcome. The plaintiffs in this case made the exactly correct legal arguments, as the unanimous decision confirms. |

Hopefully this will make the whole "gay marriage" thing a non-issue. It always gets brought up during critical points during elections to polarize the population and keep people's minds off more important things. I couild really care less if someone like isuisshit wants to get pounded in the cornhole by his boyfriend or take a hot load on the face/tounge. If he wants to get married and do the same thing I could care less as long as isuisshit keeps it in his own home.
