Picks up another public intox over night. Way be boy, make daddy proud. Now you give him no choice but to kick you off the team.

I would give him a year suspension. two public intox tickets don't amount to throwing someone off the team but that's just me. It doesn't help that he's the coach's son which only makes KF look that much worse.

I agree it doesn't, but he was already suspended from all football related things for the year last year when he got in trouble. Miller wasn't even sure if he participated in Bowl preparation.

Regardless, I agree he should at least be suspended for 5-6 games, if not the whole season.

The Captain speaks:
KIRK FERENTZ STATEMENT ON CHRISTENSEN, FERENTZ AND DERBY
IOWA CITY -- Three Iowa football players, freshmen FB Tyler Christensen, OL James Ferentz and TE Zach Derby, were cited by law enforcement for an alcohol related incident late last night.
Below is a statement by Head Coach Kirk Ferentz on the incident.
“It was very disappointing to learn of the behavior of our three players last night. Short term, all three will be suspended for the remainder of spring practice and they will be expected to fulfill significant community service obligations the next several weekends. Additional action will be determined at a later point and return to the team will be based on additional criteria.”

I don't think any of them had a good chance at significant playing time this year anyway but still doesn't look good especially James.

They probably wouldn't have played much if at all this year but being suspended sets them back that much farther than the rest of their class. And it gives another kid at the position a chance to step up and knock them back a step.
Suspend him through the non-conference part of the season and make him earn his way back.

ok, so where is the WTF post, come on. I had a DUI, and a public intox, both deferred, (thank you dumb ass lawyers) but nothing ever involved violence. A good point could be made if Ferentz were booted.
I like to think we could have avoided losing DD, if a point like this could be made prior to his transgressions... but probably not, he is obviously one of the stupidest people on the planet.
