How many positions have the rightwingers had on torture? I believe Pelosi-bashing is third in the line of What torture?....then We did torture, but it works?......now, Pelosi knew about the torture and didn't do anything about it and now she is lying about it. If she knew and lied to the public, then she should be held accountable for that. No doubt she is trying to mute her supposed knowledge in the whole affair in order to distance herself from the Bush Co. era.
I hate politicians. They are a necessary evil, but I still hate them all.

With all due respect Chief, the line blurring is being done by the GOP. Instead of wanting to address the issue of torture directly and the situation that happened under the Bush administration, they want to deflect everything on Pelosi. If Pelosi knew and is now lying, shame on her. Shame on the GOP for not being able to stand up and support their side of the issue.....oh wait....they would need to figure out what side of the issue they are on first. |

They are both wrong but two separate issues.
A.- We shouldn't torture
B.- Pelosi is calling the CIA a bunch of liars. Prove it or enjoy getting raked over the coals by the right and hopefully the people that put her in office in the first place.

The issue on the table is if Pelosi knew ahead of time about the torturing and condoned it, and if she then lied. If she did, then she needs to be held accountable. this is regardless of who pushed it.

Bush's only sins relative to his predecessors and successors with respect to torture are that he offered too much transparency about it and tried to cook up a legal justification for it. I suspect that the United States has always and will always run black ops that will engage in behavior that would make its citizens cringe. If you think this is going to fundamentally change due to a change in regime, I think you are mistaken. |
