Check this shit out: The Stepson mentions today that his class might end up watching a movie this week for the last week of school. However, he also mentioned that they might not because...... (wait for it)........ the movie is rated PG!! OMFG! We both laughed heartily, but then I started to get pissed. These kids are third-graders and will be going into fourth grade in the fall. They are 9 to 10 years old. I'm pretty damned sure they all can handle a PG movie. It's getting to be ridiculous. These fucking schools just continually "pussify" every kid that passes through their doors. Then, the poor kid "graduates" and can't figure out why he can't make it in the cold reality that is the REAL WORLD. Oh... and just what IS this offensive and vile PG-rated film? "A Series of Unfortunate Events". Jeebus HC. The Stepson watches Scarface and shit like that at home. While he will cover his eyes for the really gory parts, he doesn't get all wigged out. And he knows what words are appropriate and what are not. Maybe it's because we actually TAUGHT HIM as PARENTS are supposed to do. So, what does the board think? Have the Marshalltown schools once again gone too far? Or is it just a good way to protect innocent third graders from possibly hearing a word that may scar them for life? The only good thing about shit like this is that it really makes my voting for the school board pretty easy every year. I just never vote for any incumbent.

It only takes one parent to complain about the PG movie being shown in the class and then its fucking Milo and Otis for the 4th graders. The school is just being extra cautious.

I think the kids should just stick to learning shit if they can't have any real fun anyway...
