Two questions:
1) Hawks record
2) Big Ten standings
I'm singing a different tune this year, I have been too negative in the past. I'm calling a 10-2 regular season with either a share of the big ten title or a second/third place finish.
Standings:
Iowa/OSU
PSU
Illinois
MSU
Wisconsin
Michigan
Minnesota
Who fucking cares about where NU and IUPUI finish.

Normally, I am the eternal pessimist when it comes to the Hawkeyes. But I'm going on a limb here, 11-1 and BT champs.

The schedule is tough, but almost everyone returns except Mitch King and Shonn Greene. D line is still good and nobody besides Iowans know how good Jewel Hampton is. And with The Hawks Oline does it really matter? Steve Urkel could get 800 yards/ 15 TDs behind that line. Rick Stanzi and DJK are the wildcards. If those two click, we will be dominating.
I'm saying 12-0 and a national title. Why not?

The ISU is always insane, a 64 rating turns into an 84, and I'm thinking of PSU/OSU plit. Mich State always play's hard as well. 9-3, unless the O-line gells early. |

god I live for this, seriously, I've only been broken up with once. I remember thinking to myself... thank god September.
Germaine, or any other girls out their, break up with them in jan. That will stick it to them, break up with us now, that is mercy.
It's weird, I think of it on a societal and personal level... but NCAA football (not the video game which I love as well) Must be the greatest product on earth, I love watching our boys mature and develop on the field, for us to win a championship we have to catch lighting, but who knows we might. I hate on anyone who gets to critical, watching the kids out there in the field. But Rick this is for you,
You played against good teams, you led comebacks, Gosh darn it, don't get riled, this team on any given saturday could be anyone, these boys are corn fed.

None of them are any better than the Penn State team we beat last year. Having said that, if the Hawkeyes show up to any of the games looking preoccupied or lackadaisical during warm ups or they start celebrating before the game is over (see Adam Shada against NW), I will take it all back. If they show up every game focused on the prize, they can sweep this thing! |

man I get you iafan, I really do, my 9-3 includes being banged up. but these are not the days when you had 120 scolarships. When psu locked up half the eligible scholarships with lb's, this now, if CF has it right we might go. Thinking about how many 1-3 point games we lost in the last 4 yrs has me going crazy. yet shonne is gone,
9-3 IS GOOD, anything more is bs until we see them on the battlefield.

Best situation: 10-2 In this situation I think we will win one of the games agains PSU or OSU, and lose one against MSU, Michigan, Wisc, or NW.
Worst situation 6-6, with losses to PSU, OSU, NW, MSU, ISU, and one other game we shouldn't lose.
So, I'll change my prediction to 8-4. I'm really hoping for a big season but as a long time Hawkeye fan, knowing how much the local media is going to blow the team and some decent national recognition makes me think we will underperform.

9-3 or 10-2. 10% chance of taking the BT title
seriously, watched the Indiana game yesterday and Jewel is a beast. Very, very quick to the hole. Line brings back a ton of experience. greene was awesome, son't get me wrong, but he didn't get touched until he was 8 yards down field several times. Stanzi is coming along very well, finished last year on a very strong bowl game performance. defense has 2 huge holes to replace on the line and 1 safety to fill, but I think it can be done and am fully expecting Angerer to be a Greenway level player this year. They were nasty last year and should be scary good this year as well. Defense keeps you in every single game.
I see losses at OSU, possibly PSU. Add in one early unexpected loss and you have 9-3. Hoping I am wrong on that one.
Been on a role watching old games, thanks again to socal for sending them to me last year.

Win out at home. Lose on road at PSU and tOSU. Break the streak at MSU and pummel ISU and Wisky.
Tie for 2nd place with MSU behind tOSU.
