Caught the Green Day show in STL last night.
First of all; wow. What a great show. Those guys can still rock an arena at 40+ with the energy of a bunch of teenagers. Franz Ferdinand opened for them...ummm...they should stick to the club scene for a while before attempting the arena rock stuff again.
In between bands, they allowed people to send text messages to be displayed on the big scoreboard they have hanging over the arena at the Scott Trade center. So, being the shit-disturber I am, I texted Go Cubs Go, and it showed up a few minutes later.
I got a bigger reaction out of the crowd than Franz Ferdinand...and it was totally worth the $2.50 that'll show up on my bill next month.

"Rams next winless NFL team" might also be appropriate.

Horrible waste of $2.50.
You should be ashamed.

Stukat's text "I've fallen and I can't reach my Beer"
I would get a kick out of that.
Ive never been to a GreenDay Show. I would go if the chance came up though. A friend that worked with me in the kitchen had a CD of a couple of thier live shows and it rocked. It seems like GreenDay really gets the crowd going.

If you have the means, I highly recommend attending a Green Day show. It is so choice.

U2 and Coldplay? Why not just go see Creed or Nickleback? That would actually be a sweet concert if all of those bands toured together. They could call it the "Payola Palooza Tour" since all of those bands suck hind tit and were only popular due to the radio stations playing them constantly.

I'm with thunder. Whether or not you like U2 and Coldplay, there's no doubt that there is original thought behind their music as opposed to a bunch of powerchord crap from Nickelback/Creed.
And yes spank, I'm aware of the school of thought that Coldplay ripped off Joe Satriani. I just find it difficult to believe that Coldplay's lead singer isn't so stuck up that he actually knows who Satriani is.
