Just got out of a Navy brief showing capabilities of spyware on cell phones. Turns out, with spyware installed unknowingly on your phone, someone can listen to your calls, get notified of any outgoing or incoming calls and listen in, read text messages sent, track your location using google map type websites, turn on the speaker and listen to conversations without you knowing. Kind of a bit freaky to know that all of this software is available for download on the internet.

Yes, it's a real thing. BUT, the person has to have physical access to your phone. So - 1.) Put a password/lock on your phone. 2.) Don't leave your phone lying around.
