So....Matty drives 5 hours, one way, to see his beloved Hawks. He gets a 'get out of jail free card' and has permission to party with the boyz. He and his brother party-hearty at Ron's spot....trouble is..."bro" is wasted beyond belief, and, has the tickets. So...Matty lets him wander off without getting his ticket. I'll repeat...Matty lets him wander off with the tickets. Now...trying to find drunk 'bro' in the midst of the other 70K drunk Iowa fans is a FAIL. But, Matty is resourceful....he buys a ticket from a scalper...a STUDENT ticket. Matty of course gets shut out at the gate without a student ID and ends up paying TWICE for a game he doesn't see in person. And I betcha "bro" saw the game in person. OK....I blame Ron. Obviously, his tailgates are BAD news for participants in terms of not seeing games. Time to go alcohol-free Ron and let these poor slobs see the game in person. BTW...I did the hammer in six seconds with NO spillage. Top that.

What a moran. I would kill the bro. I bet MoHawk stood just outside the gate trying to cop a view.

Poor guy. At least we got to get boozed up in Iowa City after the game. I had a blast the whole day.

Totally my fault. My bro didn't have the tickets unfortunately, his buddies did. He left them to come find me and by the time we found each other, they had gone in, forcing me to buy the student ticket.
And BTR is finally right about something. I totally watched the game on the jumbotron from the NE corner.
It was great to go out with Twine and StuKatt after the game and meet some of their friends. A small mishap to be sure that I'll catch shit about for the next year...but overall, a great weekend in Iowa.

Oh man if I would have known that. My tailgate buddies were texting me about 2 hours before kickoff asking if I knew anyone in IA City that needed tickets (people that go to tailgate and don't go to the games or whatever). I told them no!!

Two hours before kickoff I would have told you I didn't need a ticket! It wasn't until kickoff that the need arose unfortunately.

Well at least you got to be in Iowa City to tailgate. I didn't sniff the place. I was in hickville down in far SW Iowa.

I paid 50 dollars for a ticket an hour and a half before kickoff, I should have waited and gotten a ticket for less. He offered 60 and I said how about 50 instead and he took it, I probably could have gone lower. Oh well.

Yep, if you can handle missing he first 5-10 minutes of the 1st quarter, there are always tickets available for $25 or less.

People don't want to eat them, so many folks will take whatever you offer. I've been successful with this on at least 3 different occasions.

Indeed. In fact, Brandi will probably be hanging on to them. My birthday/wedding gift from her are some prime tickets to the Iowa/Illinois game on Halloween...
Let the planning commence.
