Not posting this because we lost in OT, but I've always held the current college FB OT set up suxx. It bastardizes the game into something that appeases the bogus BCS so they don't have to deal with ties in their thinking/computer.
#1--It takes away all special teams play (excluding the FG team).
#2--Makes teams play a 'back yard' type of football from the 25...takes away 3/4 of the field...makes it easier to score.
#3--Gives the 'winning' coin toss team a big initial advantage. (i.e. OSU on Saturday)
#4--Then it flip flops if score is still tied where the offensive team gets the ball for a 2nd time in a row. THEN if game is still tied, you have to go for two on a TD. Just silly.
#5--Opinion....it's anticlimatic and boring. Similar to having two BB teams play 1/2-court only.
Why not play one 10 or 15 minute quarter? If it's still tied, then it's a tie. Let the BCS heads figure out how to deal with it.

I don't mind the rules, but instead of starting at the 25 they need to move it back to the 40 to make a team get a first down before they are in FG range at least.
Fuck the tie's, I'm glad they got rid of that. Those accomplished nothing and was a wasted 3 or 4 hours on the field.

The coin toss is more of a factor in the NFL overtime rules. If you don't win the coin toss, you may not get the ball.

I think they need to move it back to the 50. A team should not get a win because it has a kicker in college with 50+ range. And also, the defenses should be able to score. If teams start at the 50, they will have every incentive to go for it on 4th down on the first series, what's more exciting that 4th down plays?

Speaking of kickers.....how the fuck does Ohio State have a former professional soccer player who is 26 years old kicking for them? The NCAA "amateurism" rule is a bunch of shit.

It should be a regular extra period with the caveat that both teams must receive at least one possession. That's really fucking easy to implement. It's just like the NFL except the other team gets to receive a kickoff if the first team scores.
The NFL should implement the same program. Sudden death without benefit of possession is bullshit, and so is that bastardized NCAA crap.

Per NCAA bylaw 14.2.3.5 any participation on a team in organized sports competition by a student during each 12 month period after the students 21st b-day and prior to initial full time enrollment in a collegiate institution shall count as 1 year of varsity competition in that sport. THus, he has full eligibility as to football, but not soccer (as per professionalizing himself- if you can consider MLS professional).
And I agree the OT pretty much sucks. Either just play another quarter (which makes the most sense) or start the team at their own 25 or 30 and give each side a possession.

Other than that, I feel that college ball's OT is awesome. It still gives each team a chance. The NFL's OT rules suck ass and is yet another reason why the NFL pales in comparison to college ball (ex: 2 minute warning/free timeout, etc).
