Stunning.
"Shreck" meets "Dances with Wolves" meets Buddy Holly.
It's the future of film making (3D)
Go see it.
P.s. I kept my glasses

I think I'm going to see it this afternoon. I have yet to read any reviews saying it's anything short of an incredible movie and a technological achievement.

Very entertaining...however I would strongly recommend watching it in 3-D.

The hype is just too big now for me to go see it. I don't want to be set up for a major let-down.
I'll wait a few weeks or so, see if people are still talking about it, and then consider it. Right now, I am just really turned off of it from the incredible and non-stop mentioning of it in the media.

Someone compared Avatar to Fern Gully.....I think I'll wait. It wasn't as good as Fern Gully but I still liked it. If they get it at the IMAX here in the cold D, I'd probably go see it again just so the 3D can cover my entire field of vision. There really were times where it seemed like you could reach out and grab certain things that appeared to be floating in the air. Anyone who is any sort of audio/video or movie buff owes it to themselves to see this movie on the big screen, even if the story is predictable and redone. This guy does a pretty good job of describing what makes good elements of having a solid blockbuster movie by making fun of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. It's a long watch but still pretty funny and he brings up a ton of good points which I think Avatar did a good job of not screwing up by following a tried and true movie making formula.
