Here's a new aphorism: "The more body art you have, the more likely you are to be involved in deviance." So says Jerome Koch, a sociologist with Texas Tech University's "Body Art Team" -- true moniker -- which surveyed 1,753 students at four colleges and found a correlation between multiple tattoos or piercings and "deviant behavior."
The severally inked or poked at the unnamed Midwestern and Southern colleges said they engaged in, roughly speaking, more promiscuity, more drug use, more binge drinking, more arrests and more cheating on academics than their peers.
No! I NEVER would have guessed that, except that I already KNEW it.
Whenever I encounter some multi-tatted, highly pierced tool, my hand instinctively clenches into a fist, my eyes subconsciously narrow and my spidey sense starts tingling.
Millions of years of evolution have given me an instinctive sense of trouble.

Eat a bag, Itheus. Rednecks do not use terms like "procreating" and "subconsciosly". We're a couple of elites who are scared shitless about the future of the country.

Proper use of the vocabulary doesn't make you "elites", sorry. Lumping everyone into the same group, or stereotyping, would actually make you the opposite of "elites", in my eyes.

I don't have to. I have quite a few friends that are tatted up...and you will never see them around the courthouse.

Interesting since for the most part we know the same people. I'll have to inquire who you are talking about when we see each other again.

Proper use of the vocabulary doesn't make you "elites", sorry. Lumping everyone into the same group, or stereotyping, would actually make you the opposite of "elites", in my eyes. Spend a few days around a courthouse and get back to me. I’ve spent lots of time around courthouses. Criminals come in all shapes, sizes and colors. To say that having tattoos correlates into you being a criminal/deviant is ridiculous. That’s like saying being black correlates into you being a criminal/deviant. Also, this study was done on college students. So, we aren’t talking about the perceived lower levels of society here. And for the record, I pretty much guarantee that in my school years I engaged in “more promiscuity, drug use, binge drinking, arrests and cheating on academics than their peers”. I’m a white dude with not a single tattoo and one piercing. Say what you say, but in reality these sorts of “studies” only serve as fuel for racism, prejudice, bigotry, stereo-typing, and any other form of division/hate that man has created. We are all ultimately one. The less we divide ourselves and judge each other, the better off we will be. In the words of Bob – One Love

I'm not comfortable with that study. Only measured college students at Midwestern and Southern Universities. Many studies that only involve college students are skewed. For every tatted up college student who is a thug, I'll find you 5 un-tatted frat boys who act just as bad.

I don't have a tat and I wasn't the most innocent kid when I was in college.
This study is shit. Especially when you think about the fact that it was probably funded with taxpayer money.

True elites, like me and Thunderhawk, view the world in only two terms, the elites and the proles. By removing tattooed psychopaths from the gene pool by eliminating their ability to procreate, elites like us are better off. We can always import proles from abroad for menial tasks, but we have no way to divest ourselves of proles born in the US. Thems the breaks, kid.

I am completely covered in ink, have a law degree, a beautiful wife and a successful business.
You can all kiss my tattooed ass. As far as procreation, there are a lot of idiots in this thread that should be prevented from doing so.

I think this is less draconian than my "birth control in the water" plan whereby you then have to go through an appeals commission to buy birth control free water, don't you?

You may have experience seeing fucked up people with tattoos down in the court, but I have friends that are tattoo artists, piercers (who also is also an author and motivational speaker) that live straighter lives than most. I used to book bands, and b'gosh, the band members where tatted up too. They also held down solid jobs since being in a local band doesn't pay much. I'm not denying there are fucks out there that ARE tatted up, but you're painting with a broad brush.
