What A dumb fuck, he's the Cheif of Staff for the Attorney General and still takes the breathalizer on scene but not at the station and then doesn't deny any wrong doing?
Attorney general's chief of staff charged with OWI
The Iowa attorney general's chief of staff was arrested for drunken driving in early April after a police officer noticed his vehicle driving in two lanes on Grand Avenue in Des Moines.
Eric Tabor, 54, of West Des Moines was charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated, failure to use a turn signal and improper use of lanes at 11 p.m. on April 3, Des Moines police records show.
A preliminary breath test registered 0.249, which is three times the legal limit of 0.08, records show. The police report said Tabor, a former Iowa Democratic Party chair, refused to take an official blood-alcohol test later at the police station.
The officer used a portable blood-alcohol testing device when he stopped Tabor at Pennsylvania Avenue and Des Moines Street not far from the Iowa Capitol complex. So-called PBT test results are not admissible in court.
A suspected drunken driver who refuses to take an official Datamaster blood-alcohol test at the police station automatically loses his or her driver's license for a year.
"I made a serious mistake and apologize for my actions," Tabor told The Des Moines Register on Monday. "I take full responsibility for what I have done and will accept the consequences."
Tabor is a top staffer for Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller. Before this, Tabor's criminal record consisted of one traffic ticket.
