Landed another one and got a fat raise. More details needed: better trim? and I can only assume no limit on lunch expenses?

No limit on lunch expenses, free soda in the breakroom. A couple people bolted from my dept. two weeks ago, so I sent my resume over and had an offer in hand within a few days. Bigger firm, pay will go up by $25k. Ball punches will be about the same. I'm sad to roll out on everyone I've worked with for so long, but I had a really good relationship with the group who bolted as well, so I was pretty torn.

Congrats, BTR. You should post a picture of your new view, or did you have to move to an office out in Aurora?

Congrats, BTR. You should post a picture of your new view, or did you have to move to an office out in Aurora? Agreed and also pics of the new office hotties that wouldn't give you the time of day except the company is paying them to fetch you coffee.

With all that extra dough you're making, you should man up and treat a couple of us to those extra clubhouse seats out of the prole section of Kinnick.
C'mon...man up.

Damn, there's a lot of job movement going on in the Wasteland. If I don't get the one I'm looking for I'm going to feel obligated to find something different just to keep up with everyone.

Well done - congratulations. I'll be the only Iowa grad in the whole firm (1100 attorneys). I just hope the LS doesn't find out and then list my new firm as a "representative placement" or whatever other deceptive advertising they currently use to induce kids to go to LS. There are a bunch of prestigious firms that have like 1 or 2 Iowa people and the school puts them on a list it sends out to applicants, but in reality the odds of landing at a prestigious firm out of Iowa, especially in this economy, are remote. I'm going to an event to meet the new Dean to ask them to re-instate the M&A class that I took which helped callous my nads for the BPs I have taken, but if that would require them to cut out a class on feminist rights in the developing world, I doubt it will happen. God forbid law school actually try to teach kids how to be freaking lawyers.

I thought you were in school right now? Kirkwood doesn't count. They let everyone in there. I want to get into big boy school. A Phd. program, U of I preferably.

I went to Washington University in St. Louis (the "Harvard of the Midwest"...right) - good school, but...... Nobody outside of St. Louis has heard of it. There was some recognition in Chicago, but you are up against NU, ND, UM, etc. Even in St. Louis, a lot of firms would rather hire SLU grads because Wash U has the reputation of being filled with foreigners. It worked out for me, but I should have really gone elsewhere, not to mention the unbelievable high cost of tuition at a private law school.

I gave it a little bit of consideration. I got "recruiting" information from them in High School because I was a "smart" kid. Before they started sending me shit though I had never heard of them. My old lady's cousin, the chinky, doctor went there before med school at Northwestern.

I'm a retard when it comes to book smart, but you won't find anybody smarter when it comes to "street smarts",l outside of maybe thejesus or Twine. I fucking rule. ;D I read people like it's my job.
