Are you guys going to watch Zambrano pitch at Iowa tonight? What does everyone think of his bitchass tirade and what should the CUBS do with him at the end of the year? Do you feel this suspension will finally get him to grow the fuck up and start pitching like a professional? I have always been a big Zambrano fan, but I am ready for him to be moved. Let the Yankees take him off of our hands.

He obviously needs raped in the butt. That will settle him down.

I tolerated Z's bullshit when he produced (and even liked his fire). But he hasn't produced in over 3 years. Time to send him packing. Send the whole fucking team packing for all I care (keep the prospects and rookies). We don't have anyone I consider untradable (besides Colvin and maybe Castro).

Marmol and Andrew Cashner need to stay... Id have no problem bringing Marlon Byrd back. I do not want to see Soto moved. I think it would be crazy to trade Marshall.
I want Aramis back as well. (He has been hampered by the thumb injury)

It seems like the whole team is full of underacheivers whose best years are behind them. Except the rookies and Byrd.

I agree to trade every last one of those fuckers, the problem is they are all old, aren't playing well, and have GIANT fucking contracts thanks to the worst GM in Baseball.
Which means the Cubs are stuck with them.
edit: and if I was in DM I would go and heckle the shit out of that overpaid lazy ass and tell him to quit acting like a fucking 3 year old and maybe think about getting a hitter out every once in awhile.

Dammed glad I'm a Cardinals fan. Word. I'd prefer that the Wee Bears extend Zam-Bam-brano's contract.

Shook Zambrano's hand yesterday at lunch at Johnny's Hall of Fame. I told him I was a Cardinal fan but wished him luck. He smiled and thanked me. Seemed OK for the 15 seconds I dealt with him. He didn't hit me over the head with a barstool at least.

Lp... Thats pretty sweet that you met him.
He seems like a large dude on television. Has anyone else ever meet a MLB player?
My only claim is that one time Adam Dunn signed a pair of Cubs panties that was going to be a gift to one of my freind's mom. (My friend's Father was the gift giver, not me)

He was pretty low key. It didn't seem that any of the lunch crowd even noticed. I'm the only one in the whole place that approached him during the time I was there. Zambrano is a pretty big dude. I would guess 6'3" and a solid 250/260.
I took a piss next to Steve Garvey at Carver during an Iowa/Michigan State basketball game. He was a little shit....couldn't believe he was one of the best 1B-men of his generation.

He had just gotten runner-up for rookie of the year, if I remember correctly. I still have a pair of his shoes. Kind of a long story...well not realy, but not very interesting.

I drank a beer and shot the shit with Marley (the bassist for Rebelution) at one of their shows. It was before they went on. He was just walking around the crowd, and was standing by himself. I guess people either didn't recognize him or were intimidated to talk to him. But I walked up to him and introduced myself and we had a good 10 minute conversation.
I also sat at a table, and drank a beer, with Eric (the lead singer) at a another one of their shows (after the show). I barely remember that experience as I was completely blitzed on Dead Nazi's. My brother joined us after awhile, and said that I "hugged it out" with him (Eric - the lead singer) after our conversation. This is when I was going through my hugging phase last winter.
This has nothing to do with meeting baseball players, but it was infinitely more cool then meeting a baseball player. But I still like baseball none the less.

I got Guy Fieri shitfaced one time in Iowa City. I was managing the kitchen at Quinton's and he was in town for a wedding of a former co-worker who was on the "Next Food Network Star" show with Guy. I got him fuuuuucked up, we sat there doing Statue of Liberty shots where you dip your thumb in Wild Turkey and then light it on fire and stick it up in the air while you down your shot.
My only time I met a pro athlete was when Ricky Davis came over to buy weed from these dudes I lived with in Iowa City two days after he was drafterd by the Hornets. I kicked his ass in Tekken 3 for about 45 minutes while we were waiting on my roommate to get back to hook him up with an oz. of dirty schwag.

Has anyone else ever meet a MLB player? A friend used to work with the I-Cubs and now works in the Bigs. He was friends with Kerry Wood and drove his truck from Des Moines to Chicago when he got called up, have met a handful of guys, but none of them lasted that long in the majors. I am sure some die hard cub fans would know there names but really not worth mentioning. That friend and one of our other friends went out to a strip club in Minny with Wood and Glenallen Hill, he said it was a blast, didn't pay for a thing all night and that Hill called him Ivy League all night long because he looked like a preppy white kid.

Ah, Glenallen Hill. He had one of the most epic Cub homeruns...not because of context but because of power.

Trade Z, I'm fine with that. I doubt another team wants his contract though. I really hopes he gets his shit back together because he has been our Ace for 7 years.
I met Curt Schilling in Chicago after a Cubs game. He was on the Diamondbacks at the time. He was out on Sheffield signing autographs.
Roy Marble came to my middle school. I got to talk to him and shoot hoops with him.
I've also talked to Fergie Jenkins at I Cubs game a couple times. He was selling sighned bats and balls to raise money for JDRF
Also have talked a bit with Sandberg since he's been with Iowa.

Yup, that's the one. It's crazy he could hit the ball that hard with his swing. I know he's big but it's a weird swing...almost all upper body.

A bit of a sidebar here, but I just met Riley Reiff's dad in the Wisconsin Dells over the weekend. He could not have been over 5'9". Not sure where I am really going with this other than to say it is funny sometimes how shorter people can have tall, big kids on occasion.
