So I bought a couple of tickets to the DMB/Jason Mraz Sat. Night show at Wrigley in a few weeks. My sister also bought us tickets for the Friday night show. So I needed to put our pair on Stub Hub because I am an idiot and the tickets that I bought are the same night as the Iowa/Arizona Game.
Long story short, I paid about $80 each for them. Looked on Stub Hub yesterday and saw that tickets in the similar section and row were going for $250 and up. I put them on there for $300 each and they were bought within a couple of hours. Nothing like making $350 for little to no work.
I also went a little stalker on the buyer, a buddy of mine is a ticket broker and has said that he has been fucked over by stub hub before with a buyer of his tickets saying that they never got the tickets.
The dudes a venture capitalist that lives in a $2 Million home in Glenview. I'm guessing he can afford the tickets.
As nice as the cash will be those fucking ticket sites rip you the fuck off 14.5% commission. Fuck me.

I have bought and sold on Stub Hub - what a racket. But the service does what it supposed to do.

As they say, "charge what the market will bear". The laws of supply and demand. For closed capacity events (concerts, sporting events, etc.) the free market has no means to add additional capacity so prices just skyrocket. Such is life. Glad you made a but-load of $$$ out of the deal. I was unable to go to the Iowa-Iowa State game in Kinnick 4 years ago. Sold those tickets on StubHub for over $300 each to some sucker Clown fan. I didn't have any problem with it either. ;D

If you make enough money off StubHub, do you have to report it on your taxes?

Why don't you read the fucking tax code? Of course you have to fucking pay taxes on gains from scalping tickets unless you're Geithner or Rangel.

Every band that I see brought up, you bash or have a snarky comment. So I'm just curious to what you DO like.

I saw DMB last summer for my wife's birthday. When the concert ended, she woke me up so I could wipe the sleep out of my eyes and drive home.

You haven't lived until you've seen a GWAR concert.
