We get one guaranteed loss each year in Northwestern.

I think it's lame that Purdue is our protected rival but am fine with it because it gives us an easier route to the title game. Nebraska- PSU Mich- OSU Iowa- PURDUE Wisc- MINNY At least until they go to a 9 game BT schedule Iowa and Wisc got a hell of a lot better deals then the "big four" Nebraska doesn't have a shot at hell in winning our division with that schedule next year, Holy shit did Delaney bend them over: at Wisconsin Ohio State at Minnesota Michigan State Northwestern at Penn State at Michigan Iowa

I agree. Nebraska's entry into conference play does them no favors; but here's me complaining about that.
I really am beginning to get excited about Nebraska being in the Big 10. The conference seems to be on the upswing, and I think Nebraska, who is now resurgent, will only add to it.

The Purdue protected seemed stupid at first, but when you see who the other team's in the West have for protected rivals, it makes more sense. I do think our rivalry with Penn State over the last 15 years deserved some consideration for making them our protected rivals.
