Assuming there will be no changes made to the FB coaching staff (and that's a pretty fucking safe assumption, goddamit), how many games will it take for O'Kueefe to completely destroy James Vandenberg's swagger and gunslinger mentality? Kid's got a rocket hanging off his shoulder. What are the chances we'll see it in action with any kind of frequency?

If the o-line develops and stays healthy and Coker develops and stays healthy and the defense is serviceable, hopefully not too often. If the defense drops off and we don't have a running attack, we're fucked. Like 4-8 or 5-7 level fucked.

If history serves, Vandy will have an awesome year next year then look like shit his senior year. By the way, his mom is hot!

6-6 or 7-5 followed by a 10-2 or better season in 2012.

I wonder if KK has already poisoned him or not......
But I agree that we will struggle to break .500 and if rumors about McNutt and/or Sash leaving are possibly true, even that will be unattainable.

All we can ever hope for is that we have QBs that can rise above the teachings of Ken Keefe. Vandy has the physical tools.....let's see if he can learn to ignore Keefe in crunch time. I'll take our QB's instincts over Ken Keefe's play call that takes 42 seconds to get in ANY DAY.

I think McNutt could use another year, if I was Sash I would be gone and think he will be not sure on McNutt. The fact that we drop Ohio State and Wisconsin off the schedule shouldn't be overlooked. Drop: Ohio State Wisconsin Arizona Add: Purdue Nebraska Pitt sorry but that's a two game turnaround from this year if you ask me.

There are no gimmes in September with this staff, so Pitt is a draw until I see something that leads me to think otherwise. As for Purdue, they run a spread. The last time we played them, a fella by the name of Shonn Greene had one of the best games I've ever seen from an Iowa RB. The defense also gave up its patented last drive collapse, but thankfully the last pass fell incomplete. I wouldn't put any of those ball games into the W column just yet.

8 and 4. We will be better than everyone expects because there are no expectations of winning. If someone says NC again, I might just shoot them myself.

If someone says NC again, I might just shoot them myself. Man that's the fucking truth right there. There were two years where, although it was a little bit of a pipe dream, that I thought we could contend. Both of those years can kiss my ass.

I agree with all of the above. And yes after watching this years team fold up like a tent I don't count any game as a win but on paper that's a hell of a lot easier then what we faced this year. We will beat Pitt, Purdue I think we beat and Nebraska will kick our ass to end the year.

I'll say 7-5. That would be acceptable, anything better great, anything less and we are officially a program on the wane.

I'll just say that I doubt we will be having the discussion on whether or not the basketball team has more wins than the football team.

This has got to be the most frustrating season on college football ever. Iowa stinks the joint up. USF loses 3 of the 4 home games I went to by 3 points each. UCONN sucks and they are going to the BCS. ARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH! Ahhh, feel better already.
