This is why the Cubs fucking suck (but I will always be a fan). Ron Santo, one of the most loyal and passionate Cubs fans of all time, died today. How was his lifetime of Cubs loyalty rewarded? With 0 World Series titles and that sorry excuse for a season on which to go out on.
RIP Ronnie.

You know what is really going to piss me off is he will probably get in the HOF now that he has died.
Total BS that he isn't in already and was always very classy about it when he didn't get in, unlike that crying fuck Bert Blyleven (sp) that bitches every year he doesn't get enough votes.

The God damned baseball HOF is for the fucking best of the best. Santo was fucking good, but not ricockulously good. I hope that Hawk fucking Harrelson applies for a job as a Cubs announcer now that a job should be opening up.

And that was back when it wasn't fucking rigged by Fucks in Japan voting for players on the internet from their cardboard boxes in Tokyo. and here you go douche: Here's Santo's stats compared to some guys already in the HOF. Ron Santo - 14 seasons - .277 AVG, 342 HR, 1,331 RBI, 9 time All-Star, 5 time Gold Glove Eddie Matthews - 16 seasons - .271 AVG, 512 HR, 1,453 RBI, 12 time All-Star, 0 Gold Gloves Brooks Robinson - 22 seasons, .267 AVG, 268 HR, 1,357 RBI, 18 time All-Star, 16 Gold Gloves Wade Boggs - 17 seasons, .328 AVG, 118 HR, 1,014 RBI, 12 time All-Star, 2 Gold Gloves Mike Schmidt - 17 seasons, .267 AVG, 548 HR, 1,595 RBI, 12 time All-Star, 10 Gold Gloves George Kell - 14 seasons, .306 AVG, 78 HR, 870 RBI, 10 time All-Star, 0 Gold Gloves

The only reason he isn't in is because he pissed off some people back in the day. Statistically, he should have been in without a doubt. It's really fucked up that he didn't make it.
RIP Ronnie.

Santo was fucking good, I ain't saying he wasn't, but the baseball HOF is reserved for the creme de la creme, and he's a fucking cut under that. If I had a god damned vote, Schmidt and Brooks Robinson would be the only ones off the list above to make it. Wade fucking Boggs, give me a fucking break. A good ball player, but not HOFer. You probably want Prior, Wood, Jerome Walton and every other fucking scrub ass Cub in.

It SHOULD be, but it's not. With the current criteria and comparables, there's no reason Santo shouldn't be in the HOF.
