Fucking god damned contractor (a) started working at 7:38 on Saturday morning (we gave him times he could work), (b) left his truck idling in the fucking heated garage for over an hour just sitting in the middle of the lane blocking traffic and (c) was throwing cigarette butts off the fucking balcony. Jesus fucking Christ, is the guy fucking mental or what? Don't get me wrong, I want to live in a place where they don't let contractors bang shit at 7:30 in the morning, etc., and I am fine with the board enforcing the rules, but my level of rage at that fucking dipshit is off the charts right now. Dude still has about two hours of work to do and Ma won't even give me the guy's phone number because she's worried he won't come back to finish if I call him this pissed off.

No fine assessed yet. Sent a very ass kissy letter to board, hoping they take it easy on me. Wootton is a stud, dude blew his knee and came back for his senior season and still mustered 4 bags, including the one we all remember. That guy has 10x as much heart in his pinky as the Iowa defense has as a freaking squad.

Talked to the dude at the management company, said fines will probably be less than $200. I had been expecting something like $500 per offense, and I was so happy I went into Randy mode:

Oh yeah, and Ma got the designer to cut the bill by the amount of the fines. The designer was livid because she doesn't want her contractors to fuck up her business, which is almost 100% based on design work for a very small Japanese community in the Chicago area.

The Saga of The BTR-Ma Condo is pure comedy gold so far. Between the clumsy move and the shithead contractor, I am highly entertained. Keep the gifts coming, 'Santa'.

Hopefully you don't have the same type of neighbors my bro had. He lived above some grumpy, 'hate the world' elderly fuckers that complained on him every chance they had. I witnessed some ridiculous shit. For example, my brother was out of town, and my wife and I went over to feed the cat. All we did was that - and just walk around the condo to make sure everything was in tact (a short order, as it was just a condo). The downstairs neighbor went to the condo association, which was run by fellow elders, and complained of noise like jumping around and 'stomping'. As fun as it may have been, there was no hanky panky involved. My brother racked up more than $1000 worth of fines while living there.
The condo association meetings were held in the middle of the day, while he was working (and conducive to a grumpy, retired, eldery fucker schedule). He couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Sounds like your broheim lived in "Del Boca Vista".

Oh man...condo hassles.
Makes me appreciate being able to walk outside into my back yard and take a piss if I feel like it.

My condo board when I lived in Chicago was made of up of people who I swear thought they were in a position akin to senator or something. This was the powerful position that justified their existence.

You need to go piss on his door handle in the middle of the night. Just don't ever shake his hand.

Time to run for Board President and exact your revenge.

I will never run for Board President because I'm too scared of dudes like me. The Board has failed to provide notice of the fine pursuant to the rules and the fine will not be paid until such time as the board is in strict compliance with the rules. Notice was not delivered via US Mail or under my door per the rules, it was delivered via email. Once notice is properly made, an appeal requesting the background and minutes from every fine levied in excess of $25 will be requested, as I think fining me $100 for some prole throwing a single cigarette butt off my balcony is excessive given that the rules generally state that the first offense of each year is generally met with a $25 fine.
Additionally, the association still owes me an accounting of my move in fees. $500 for two hours of security guard time seems steep. Interestingly, I found a line item in the financials for move-in/move out fees which leads me to believe the association is pocketing some proceeds of the fees, but the rules clearly state any amounts not used to pay the security guard are refunded.

We all know you are a smart ass but I hope to hell the above is true, not that I give a shit about what fines you get and or if you pay them but the response from the board would be pretty damn funny. But then there is a part of me that thinks it's all talk and you have already had Ma bake several dozen cookies which you hand delivered to each board member to kiss their ass and apologize for being such a cocksucker.

I don't give a fuck about the hundred fitty bucks, see Randy Moss video above. However, you have to set precedent. Like for instance, when I bought, I skimmed the rules and was like "yeah, this is all good shit that I don't want some fucking prole doing in a building I own a share of" but at the same time, I have to be mindful of the fact that there is a damn good chance I or one of my guests will end up vomiting or passed out in the hallway if I live in the place long enough, so I have to set precedent early.
