As you can see, getting banned from here would take a lot of work. To my knowledge, only IowaFan and EverHawk have been banned. Iowafan claims everyone on here is liberal, but I would say everyone is more anti-douche, as I believe Iowafan was talking shit about someone's kid or someone's job loss or some bullshit.
I'd say most of the folks on here are slightly to the left of the Berkeley City Council.

I'm an independent so fuck everyone! You are the problem. Independents usually end up recycling the same bullshit every 2 to 4 years. Obama's not making change fast enough....throw everyone out and put fuck-ups from 3 years ago back in power.....yeah for Independents!!!!!!

Republican or Democrat, it matters not. It's the same string pullers at the top of the puppet show.

Eh - I don't know if I am the problem as much as it is the guy that says, "this guy doesn't believe what I believe so I want him to fail." I mean, either we're successful as a country or state or city or we're not, who really cares what ideology gets us there? I'm a private sector Democrat or a Republian that isn't a total cocksucker. One or the other.

I'm a jaded asshole when it comes to politics. I get fucking pissed when I type the word.
Fuck both parties. My opions do not line up with either, and find it hard to believe that the majority of America has one of two belief systems/political views.

Iowafan was talking shit about someone's kid or someone's job loss Pretty much. He was axed for the constant personal attacks that we came to know and loathe.

I'm a registered Dem but moreso because I fucking hate what the GOP now stands for and what they've become. There was a time in my life where I was actually a registered Repube, but those days are long gone. They and many of their ilk have gone off the deep end in my opinion and trying to use the Bible to support their fucked up beliefs. But enough about me and my shitty opinions...

I took a test once that told me I was a left-leaning Libertarian and that is probably about right. I have always voted Democrat for President, but may have voted for McCain in 2000 if he had been nominated. He was different then, at least on the surface.
I cannot begin to get behind the Republican party with its supply-side, tax cutting economic policy (I was an economics major and was taught as a freshman was goofy) or its takeover by religious freaks and the likes of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I hate the Democrats because they are too damn pathetic to get anything done and I don't agree with half of what they stand for, either. The problem is that I am a true centrist on almost every issue and the political climate is so polarized now that centrists have no voice.
In short, I am like Itheus in that nobody seems to be speaking for me and I am about to become like Dug and cancel my voter registration. Down here in Jawja, my vote is a little blue drop in a big red ocean and all I get out of it is jury duty. And long-term, my wife and I are having conversations about leaving the country altogether for retirement. It is sliding deeper and deeper into the shitter.

I have a friend who is looking at houses in Mexico this spring. She is retiring there in about 4 years. I don't blame her. If I didn't love our family farm in Iowa, I would probably do the same thing.

I know of someone who recently retired to Equador and loves it and also have a buddy who just spent the last 4 months working in Uruguay and is VERY unhappy that he is coming back.
