Am I the only one who is a little worried about the rotation this year? Are they really counting on Lieber?

Yes and no. Wrigley quit being "Wrigley" years ago with the yuppie invasion. When it became a party to go to Wrigley instead of a ball game, it lost some of the luster. I was a Cubs season ticket holder and you sit in the crowd surrounded by drunken 20-somethings that are not even paying attention to the game, cheering when the crowd cheers, and well, maybe my SOB is showing. Also, what is "Wrigley" but a corporate name attached to the ball park for free anyway?

I've only been to Wrigley once, so I can't say I've experienced the drunken morons that are only there to be seen at the game. Living in the middle of Cardinals Country, I don't run across too many passive Cubs fans...most are pretty hardcore like me. All that said, I've no tolerance for ANYONE who is only at the game to be seen, rather than actually pay attention to the game and be an intelligent fan. Being a Cubs fan in Chicago is kind of the chic thing to do from what I can gather, and that really chaps my ass. When the Cubs win the World Series, and it will happen eventually, all those bandwagon fans that jumped on during the 2003 season can go fuck themselves and leave the celebrating to those of us who have been suffering since birth. I'll now step off...

Those will be the ones that riot in the streets of Chi-town too. Though don't get me wrong, when it happens, I'll be rioting in the streets of Ankeny, even if it's by myself!

They need to move the Cubs out to Schumburg. That'll reduce the general level of douchiness at the games while also pissing off all the a-holes who live in Wrigley - er - name of stadium to be determined - ville.

Chicks being there just to be seen I am ok with. Guys not so much.

Hot chick! DeRosa's back by March 10th. Soriano gave a scare with a fractured finger, but it should only be 3-5 days, so that's good.

Soriano is out for a couple of weeks now, instead of 3-5 days.

Marmol pushing hard for the closer roll. Has yet to give up a hit in any innings he's worked.

DeRosa will be eating some pine next week after they get taken to the cleaners by giving up at least four starters and/or top prospects for Brian Roberts. GO ORIOLES!!!!

I really hope Hendry does not pull the trigger on the Roberts deal. I really don't think we need him and I'm REALLY afraid they'll give up too much to get him.

I agree. I don't think he a big enough upgrade to warrant giving up good, young pitching. Now, if the deal could be done for Jason Marquis and Ronnie Cedeno, that is another matter.

This time next week, the Orioles will have raped the baby bears to the tune of:
baby bears get Roberts and Payton Orioles get at least Gallagher, Veal, Cedeno and Ceda.
In the world famous words of our very own Ralphie, "Jim Hendry is Andy MacPhail's bitch and will give A.M. whatever he wants."
I just happen to agree with Ralphie on this.

Wood was named the Closer. Marguis was named the 5th starter. Leiber was put in the pen.
