Yeah, those kids would have been better off either (a) becoming brides of Warren Jeffs' henchmen (for the gals), (b) getting tossed out on their own at 14 (for the guys) or (c) becoming a permanent ward of the state with no due process. Cut out due process, the state knows what's best and there is no need to analyze anything.

Yeah, because all of those asshole lawyers have nothing but due process and the best interests of those kids in mind.

Whoa, lawyers are donating their time to those in need of representation and now they are getting shat upon by the left? Pay more taxes. Don't do pro bono. I guess a guy can't win with this crowd.

Each kid should have their own lawyer to prevent any potential conflicts of interest. Weren't there over 400 kids?

You never know what the conflict might be, that's why each kid needs his or her own lawyer. If one says everything was swell and they want to go back and another says it sucked ass and their parents should be locked up, there is no way one lawyer could represent both of those kids at once.

yeah this sounds like a big goverment clusterf*ck. Our tax dollars hard at work.
If reading certain message boards led you to believe that all lawyers are extremely right wing conservatives that do little but spout off a bunch of assumptions, labels, and stereotypes. These here are your liberal lawyers, creating mass confusion under the guise of 'doing something worthwhile', they are about as useless as your conservative lawyers.
But then there I go with my own assumptions, labels, and stereotypes. I'm sure there are good lawyers somewhere.

I'd bet that most of those lawyers are conservatives. It's not the lawyers' fault that the judge did not have an orderly process set up in advance of such a large hearing. If I am ever unable to speak for myself, I would be damn happy that someone stepped up to represent me. These lawyers who are working to determine what's in the best interest of those kids are providing the pinnacle of community service, but they get bashed by the batshit insane left wingers.

No, I'd bet they were all liberals. And dirty bat shit crazy ones at that. They all went to liberal arts schools and learned a bunch of liberal things like music, poetry, pottery, and frisbee. Heck they even did it 4 years longer than the average schmoe. I'm going to take a page out of your book and label all these lawyers dirty liberals. Even you, Ralph, are a liberal. You just think it's cool to act like you're paying more taxes than everyone else.
But these lawyers down here are obviously idiots. Gathering around creating paperwork, wasting money, billing the taxpayers exhorbitant amounts of money. It just goes to show you that lawyers convolute our society just as bad as hippies and commies do. But hippies and commies are usually sterotypes that ignorant people use to group people together for purposes of degrading them (not always, Chinese people could legitimetely be called commies, although they're capitalistic commies these days). Lawyers are real people, they have to pass a test and have a degree in poetry reading in order to clog up society and waste other people's money and time.

Wow, my guess is that when you get an OWI, divorce, get injured, have a family member die, get ripped off in a deal, or are in need of a will, you'll just take care of it yourself and save the $300 that a lawyer will charge you and get the same results. The US is a nation of rules and laws, lawyers help navigate those rules and laws, commies and hippies don't believe in those things, they only believe in brute force or laziness.
Yep, I think it's cool to act like I pay more in taxes than everyone else. I'm not in the group that has been deemed "rich" that pays over 90% of the income tax in the country. You got me there. I hope the $400 you got stuck for last year didn't sting too bad.
The only poetry on the bar exam is the fictional garbage that liberal judicial activists like your hero Ruth Ginsberg made up to say that the Constitution protects a woman's right to perform infanticide or that the Constitution treats everyone equally, but some people more equally or that the Constitution gives the federal government unmitigated regulatory power.

I got an OWI in 1998, and didn't get a lawyer. I have had a lawyer before. Found them basically useless. I even went to court once and politely asked the judge to drop the case and he did.
I couldn't tell you two things about Ruth Ginsberg. So I can't really say if she is my hero. I doubt it. I am my own hero.
The Constitution does grant unmitigated regulatory control. They left that part up to interpretation, so lawyers and judges (one in the same) can write up paperwork to circumvent the law. It's completely screwed up. Dirty liberal lawyers looking for loopholes. Me, I'm not a liberal lawyer, don't want to be one. I suppose the money would be good, but then I would be working more hours, shuffling paperwork, and generally feeling pretty useless. Not the life for me. I live in Iowa, most of the things I enjoy doing don't require too much money.

Wow. The modern left is even more morally and intellectually bankrupt than I thought. OWIs. Failure to comprehend that the federal government is a government of enumerated powers. Amazing.

I said you are morally bankrupt. That is in response to the fact that you got an OWI. I have NEVER even thought about driving drunk. It endangers other people.
I also said you are intellectually bankrupt. That is in response to your assertion that "The Constitution does grant unmitigated regulatory control." It's not true and it makes it very apparent that you have never looked at the Constitution, or if you did, you failed to understand it.
They're not attempts to insult, just pointing out the truth.

Well I was being honest and I figured some schmuck like you've proven yourself to be would attempt to label me in an attempt to put yourself on a pedestal. But you can try all you want, I've long since put you beneath me after reading maybe 10 of your posts. I'm pretty certain I've experienced much more in my life than you and could kick your ass in just about anything other than maybe sitting on my ass, wasting money, and bitching about taxes.
They are attempts to insult, Ralph. That is your entire M.O.

That's how we deal with blowhards where I come from. There's no actual talking sense into them. They are going to think they're better than you until you finally stuff your foot in their ass. It's pretty simple really. That's where I've arrived with regards to you.
