Wow racerhawk, maybe if you didn't spend as much time worrying about whether or not the 4th Trombone fell in line when the band came on the field, you might know a thing or two about football. I defer to the coaches when it comes to stars and all that crap. They know what they need and they were right on the money with Adam "the Glove" Shada. I just have a bad feeling that the guy who was really good at finding those diamonds in the rough on the defensive side of the ball is now coaching in the great cheese factory to the north that seems to eek out wins with a servicable offense and stout defense week in and week out. But under your theory, Ken was the one who went into the Sanders house and talked Bob out of OSU, Michigan and Penn State. He should win COTY for that recruiting coup. A monkey with a rolodex could call plays at least as well as KOK, so I say let's mix it up and give somebody else a shot. I've seen what Ken can't do, and it is call plays. Hell, give me and barber two 18 packs of Coors Light bottles, access to the pisser and a headset and we'll take care of the playcalling. I actually agree with Okweefe sucking for the most part, and you just might be that monkey with a rolodex. I think, however, you are very simlistic. I think a ton of the offensive problems have to do with the departure of Philbin, the o line coach, and not necessarily Okweefe, who presided over a few decent offenses. But then again, you're always right, so complain away. Perhaps if you quit whining so much about everything, you might make a germane comment about the game of football. No, "KOK is god" is not an informed opinion, just a whiner. 8 wins or more. It's not hard to criticize a bunch of guys when they're down. It's not hard to say "fire the coach and bench the QB." That MAY be necessary, but as usual, you really don't think much beyond those two thoughts. In 2002, there were some great athletes, to be sure. The O line was fantastic, and made everyone look great. The zone blocking opened up holes even you could run through. Who was the O coordinator then? I DO think we need to insert some spread formations and scratch where it itches, at Hayden would say. However, many of the problems are due to horrible O line play in my opinion. You can't scheme your way to absolute success with a shitty O line. It helps, but doesn't make you a 10 win team.

Oh my god, O'Kweefe was the O-ccordinator in '02? You're shitting me. He had a good offense when we had 5 sick O-linemen? Where the hell was his miraculous playcalling in the Purdue game? Or the USC game? Was it his idea to showcase Brad Banks the passer that day? O'Kweefe has put together one really solid year, that was 2004. Even that year, we looked like a bunch of dipshits early in the season, but that performance at ASU wasn't the o-coordinator's fault, we were young. Yeah, O'kweefe called a few decent games last year, like Northwestern and MSU, and I was glad we were finally able to beat Northwestern, but the guy's playcalling sucked ass most of the year. As it did in 2006 and 2005. Maybe if you and your liberal flag waving feminist allies would have let us go after Bob Stoops when we were looking for a coach, we'd have a decent football team now instead of this perennial 6 win powerhouse that has losing records over the past 3 seasons to ISU, Northwestern, Indiana and Wisconsin. Oh you forgot about that losing record to the doormats like NU, ISU and IU, didn't you? Maybe you and Mary Sue Coleman can get in a drum circle and talk about how awesome Iowa is academically now or how awesome the women's study program is. You're right, nothing needs to change. We don't need hope, or change, or hope for change, or change for hope, we just need a more cushioned pair of kneepads to keep O'Kweefe and Ferentz happy so we can keep putting up close losses against Western Michigan and ISU. If you were AD, you would make Ron Guenther look like a genius. Moran.

You were probably high fiving to beat the band when we beat LSU and Florida in NY bowl games, bandwagoner. In fact, after you bitched for three straight hours when we were at the bar watching MSU, you even high fived me after Iowa beat MSU. Imagine that. Btw, I've never been to France, don't own a white flag, and served in the Military. How bout you, Napoleon?

Sorry that I didn't like your Jake for Heisman shirt and chant. I mean, yeah his 50 yards in a multiple OT game were big, but your mancrush on him really scared the ladies.
Plus, that was the day after spartacusmaximus ditched me at Rossi's and I ended up at some hippie joint on the far west side and didn't get home 'til 4 in the morning -- BUT I was still the first m-effer at Merkle's drinking the next day.
