Heard on NPR this morning the CDC and World Health Organization are predicting 1 million deaths by the end of January. That figure was released on the 23rd of September and was about ebola worst case scenario. I don't know what the current estimates are but I got a email today regarding ebola that made me raise an eyebrow.

Which is weird. None of the people who lived with the guy caught it but some cop goes in there once and comes down with it. Dude must had been licking everything in the apartment.

Well, to be fair, 21 days hasn't passed by yet.. I have a bet that the GF and probably a kid will get it from him as he probably went tribal and gave them all sloppy kisses when he arrived and when he got sick he probably gave the GF a ride on the bony pony as well. And looking at the picture of the cop, he probably ate donuts in the house that he sneezed blood on, because well, free donuts.

Share that email please Uh, lets just say that a certain hospital in the midwest is preparing for ebola patients, which only makes sense, but there was one line that was bolded for emphasis that caught my attention 'Information about Ebola in the U.S. is changing rapidly. Staff must be prepared for receiving updates about screening criteria'. This may mean nothing but on the other hand........ well, you know.

I was just in the ER all afternoon as my son was exhibiting signs of appendicitis. Abdomen pain, fever, etc. I was surprised they did not ask me if I had traveled lately. I joked with the nurse when she brought us back, that I had not traveled to west Africa lately. She said that was going to be her next question and asked if they had asked me that when I checked in. I said no. She was dismayed. Those were the symptoms the guy from Liberia had when he first went to the hospital, so you would think they would be on high alert.

This would be the hospital across the street from Kinnick.
