Spot on post, Ghost. Now on to the Anthropogenic Climate Change Douchebaggery Front. ManBearPig is implying that AGW is resposible for this strong cyclone due to higher ocean temps. I guess he didn't get the memo that the Pacific Decadal Oscillation is in a cool phase and that the current La Nina is still going strong. What an asswipe.

Unfortunately, she is absolutely correct. Political schtick aside, thousands of people needlyless dies because of the gross inaction of the Burmese Govt. The majority of the people who died drowned. This could have been avoided, bince international weather agencies told Rangoon that a cyclone was heading towards the Burmese lowland deltas. If the Burmese Govt. would have advicsed people to go upland or enter fortified buildings, many of these deaths could have been prevented. But the Govt. did nothing to warn the people. Now the people who survived had all of their possesions and food stocks eliminated. They have no fresh water, food or shelter. They are without the things nessecary to survive, and the government wont allow foreign governments or NGOs to help? That is criminal neglegance. So no matter how stupid dumbfuck Bush is, Laura is right to point this out. That's not what is important, Ghost (the 22,000 dead, that is). What's important here is that Laura Bush is a hypocrite! *end of sarcasm*

What country had naval ships sitting in the Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours of Katrina hitting land? MCPO - let me take a minute to thank and congratulate you for being a member of one of the greatest providers of humanitarian aid the Earth has ever seen.
