Two things:
First, the Domers shoulda won.
2) the best athlete on that court was the pasty kid with the chin hair. That fucker throws 96mph and already has a major league contract that's already paid him half a mil.
C). Any one of those Irish players will have a highly successful existence with or without pro sport. Every one of those Kenthuggy fucks is one nagging knee injury away from Burger King or gang banging and welfare checks.

And then there were two teams from the weak big ten in the final four.

Seth52245 1 720 900 254934 97.8% (ESPN contest) 98.6% All four final teams correct
99%
Seth52245 2 HawkeyeNation Pool 720 910 204523 98.2% (Hawkeye Nation contest) 98.9%
99.2%
One finalist in (Duke) as I type this....but really want Bucky to send KY home despite my bracket.

Brutal. But spot on. Mushnick: Root for Kentucky! They don't pretend school mattersFinally, after all these years, we have an NCAA Tournament favorite we can root for without moral compromise, a team so steeped in unconditional, conspicuous integrity that right-headed folks can cheer as one. Go tell it on the mountain!
Ladies and gentlemen, sports fans of all demographic ages, Nike jersey and sneaker sizes, your University of Kentucky Wildcats!
Finally, a team without false collegiate pretense, a team that plays on courts stripped of scholastic varnish. Finally, a team fronted by a major university that knows we know that this team now annually has the same relationship to college as pigeons do to stone soldiers standing in town squares.
No team, as politicians vowing partial truths say, is “more transparent.” No team has made it so clear that its full scholarship recruits aren’t “student-athletes,” but assembled to spend seven months using Kentucky as a luxurious basketball facility. Then off they go!...
...The University of North Carolina? Now there’s a school that still plays pretend, as if football and basketball recruits are legitimate “student-athletes.”
That’s why basketball coach Roy Williams claimed he had no idea — knock him over with a feather — when UNC was revealed to be giving away no-show, keep-’em-eligible academic credits to full-scholarship recruits who, even if they wanted a college education, were provided the plan and path to avoid it...I understand this guys view, but it's stupid. Look I have said 1000 times I would have no problem with players being paid, but nobody wants to talk about what that would do to college sports. No, I am not talking about kids getting money via check form vs. $100 handshakes but the fact that if you start paying football and basketball players you have to pay all the non revenue athletes as well. That's a non starter for every school that isn't in a BCS conference getting millions from conference TV deals. It would kill every mid major athletic department, hell it would kill almost every athletic department aside from the 15-20 a year that actually turn a profit. I wouldn't give a shit if every school started paying kids (because ISU would be fucked and Iowa would survive) but you would be creating an even bigger gap between the have and have not's which clearly those on the side of paying have never thought or care to think about. And have fun trying to get that done without pissing off the title IX police because paying athletes would force a lot of schools to kill off a ton of women's sports that are non money makers.

Guess what...school doesn't matter. If I could trade Mike Gesell's Academic AA award for a PG who can actually finish at the rim, I'd do it in a heart beat.
