Don't get drunk while trying to watch Cloverfield. It is hard to follow.
That is all.

You must have been pretty smashed, Ghost. Not much to follow in this flick, really.
Also, you can pretty much drink, take a crap, do some laundry or whatever for the first 1/3 of the movie and not miss a damned thing.

Jeebus HC... it wasn't THAT bad.
It was ALL special effects. If you didn't know that going in, then you haven't been paying attention.
I lowered my expectations prior to seeing the film and was not disappointed. It was decent. Certainly a nice change of pace from the current genre of crap trotted out onto the screen from Hollywood.

-------- SPOLIERS --------- yeah it wasn't horrible. I just wanted to get a Spinal tap reference in.
I really didn't like most of the characters, especially the two male roles. The guy behind the camera was a complete douche. The friend that they followed around was even more stupid. Everything they did made little sense, and much like the Blair Witch Project, if you were being chased by a monster or a witch, or if you were leaping between two crumbling buildings from the 50th floor you wouldn't keep filming the entire time, you'd shut the stupid camera off and try to figure out how to survive.
And their friend who was impaled for hours on an iron rod miraculously is perfectly fine after they pull her off of it. Lot of inconsistencies like that that made me say to myself.. "This is stupid."

This acctually was one of the scariest movies I have seen in a long time. Most horror movies try and scare you with either fake terror with quick camera cuts, or try and make you squirm by showing you something utterly disgusting.
This movie was good because you have no idea what is going on. There is a monster, but you don't know where it is from, what it is doing, and how to kill it. I really liked how they rarely show the monster, and you never get to see it much, it was kind of like Jaws in that sense. The unknown is definately the scariest thing of all.
The scene in the subway tunnel when they are in the dark and encounter those little things was an awesome scene.

It wasn't great, but not truely horrible either. A bit unrealistic, but if you hold other movies to that standard your DVD collection is going to be sparse. I did like the scene in the subway and at the hospital as well. The chaos and confusion was nce to see. At least it looked like no one had any idea WTF was going on.

Well actually Shit Sandwich was the 2 word review for Spinal Tap's album Shark Sandwich. Shit Field was my two word review for Clover Field. ...get it? Still not that clever, but whatever.

I watched it in the theater, and loved it. After I watched, I warned my friends to either watch it in the theater, or don't bother unless you have one kick ass system...just not the same.
