For those of you who don’t have the cables or who may have otherwise missed it, Jon’s guest last night was former Undersecretary of Defense Doug Feith, one of the principle architects of the Iraq war. Watch him spin desperately as Jon calls him out on his outright lies on national television: www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=168543This, btw, is the full, unedited 22-minute version of the interview.

Even with people like Lynne Cheney, he's at least courteous. But I got some serious "I despise the f'ing guy" vibes from JS last night.
....and rightly so.

"Despise" and "disgusted by."
Jon did a masterful job in his questioning, his persistence and his even temperment. His fearless candor and willingness to speak truth to power while still remaining polite, articulate and on-message is a beautiful thing to behold, and keeps me hopeful that maybe everything will be ok in the end after all.

I am a huge fan of his and of the Daily Show. I have not seen the 22-minute version yet, but I will.
Edit: Brilliant job on the interview. It is really too bad that actual questioning occurs on a comedy show and not on the other networks so it is easily dismissed.

I haven't watched it yet, but I'm surprised Mr. Feith agreed to go on there. Maybe he underestimated Jon Stewart.

Given that Feith is reputed to be one of the dumbest people ever to work in Washington, I'm not surprised at all. That said, I am very surprised he was allowed to go on the show. I half expected him to be gone after that first commercial break, whisked away by the Secret Service in an effort to shut him up. Glad he wasn't.
