Litigation will go on and on, with nothing happening, until someone randomly decides the case is over and it ends in a tie.

Yeah, there was some article a few weeks ago that said top brass of FIFA wouldn't enter the US because they were scurred they were funna get arrested. Fucking guys should have researched countries with non-extradition treaties a little harder. Federal law in the US is so god damned broad that if you get sideways with the US government, you can be totes fucked.

The real target here is the hyper corrupt awarding of the cup to Russia and Qatar.
Watch for flips and deals.

The real target here is the hyper corrupt awarding of the cup to Russia and Qatar. Watch for flips and deals. I think the Qatar thing is what really pissed off Uncle Sug. I mean, you don't see the US going after the IOC for the deal they cut with Russia for Sochi, but the stories out of Qatar are extremely bad. If it was 1995 and the flow of information could be controlled, no biggie, but keeping that slave colony, err, construction project, under wraps has proven difficult. You've got US TV networks shelling out billions for TV rights and I'll bet a lot of sponsors are eventually gonna pull out because they won't want to be associated with a few thousand migrant worker deaths, which then crushes the value of the TV rights.

I don't know, depending on where the World Cup falls in terms of the election cycle I could see Republican candidates buying a lot of political ads for dirt cheap if that happens. one, they don't give a f*** about migrant worker deaths. into their all about reaching out to the dirty f****** Mexican errrr new voter streams.

Surprisingly good bit of journalism from CNN. Why is the U.S. bringing the hammer down on FIFA?

FIFA's president, Sepp Blatter, is as slippery as swine at an Iowa State Fair greased pig contest. It'll be interesting to see how he wiggles out of this one, although I have no doubt that he will. Their press conference this morning asserting they initiated this was simply beyond belief. Undeterred by arrests, soccer boss Blatter plots another great escape

Chances are if they weren't buried under a stadium in Qatar, they'd be buried under a goat shack in Kathmandu, bince God decided to punish Nepal for the actions of American homogheys.

Holy shit. Yeah, it ain't good. The United States should withdraw from the 2022 World Cup in short order. And we should lean on every god damned country that we have saved from some maniacal dictator to do the same. Then, we should also lean on all of them to cancel all registered intellectual property rights owned by FIFA and take the name "World Cup" and host the 2022 games in the US or Western Europe (in a place that already has infrastructure) and just be done with these assholes. A message needs to be sent to FIFA and the IOC that the United States, which is a giant source of revenue for these things, isn't going to let some third world country enslave people and spend itself into poverty for a few week sporting event just because some asshole hands over a bigger briefcase than Mayor Daley was able to deliver to the IOC a few years ago.
