I really enjoy Man vs Wild. Bear is British special forces, experienced climber, Mt Everest veteran ect. Even drinking his own urine in Australia in 130 degrees he is joking.
Les Stroud whines and whines and whines and acts like he's going to be eaten by Bigfoot at any moment. The only enjoyment I get out of watching his show is that he may break out crying at any moment.
Your thoughts?

One is real, the other is not. I'll take the real one.

It's TV so to a certain degree they are both fake. However, Bear would kick the living shit outta Les any day of the week.

TV is the scourge of society. We could be out climbing our own hills rather than watching these guys do it.
I have seen parts of the Bear dude's show and I am not too impressed. He is posing most of the time. Reminds me of that Steve-O dude from Jackass. Only he does his stunts under the guise of performing 'survival tactics'. Mark my words, when he runs out of ideas he's going to staple his scrotum the the top of a tree to keep jaguars from eating him while he sleeps.

Bear Grylls is entertaining. And as a fellow backcountry adventurer, I can vouch for most of his advice. He's fucking crazy to climb some of that vertical shit unroped, but his technique is correct. His most important advice, stay focused and optimistic, is critical. You can learn a lot from Bear Grylls if you decide to focus on the survival advice and take the physical stunts for entertainment value.
Stroud is boring. And whiny. That show is lame as hell.

Survivorman > Man v Wild, and it's not even close. If you enjoy watching some dude continually wipe off a smudged camera lens and start fires with a lighter...

Bear is a fraud I wouldn't much care if he wasn't encouraging people to do really, really, really stupid stuff in the interest of "survival." At least Les is honest.
