I’ll raise my hand…for the moment. In our household of four, no one has had it yet. All triple vaxxed. We all have jobs outside the home, or in my sons case goes to junior college so it not like we’re not around people. He was just recently sick with a bad cold that he picked up from a friend. He was tested twice and negative for Covid or flu. He was sick for a week but surprisingly no one else came down with whatever that was.
We all wear masks at our jobs and school and any stores or businesses. In the last two years I’ve been out to eat at a restaurant less than 10 times. We still get food for pick up. My son is pretty good about wearing a mask in public but I know he has gone out to eat with his friends and he will probably be the one to bring it home. My daughter that lives with us is also very good about wearing a mask but she has a friend that is dating an antivaxer so she has a good chance of bringing it home. I wear a mask at work but there are plenty of Covid patients being wheeled down halls where I am at so I certainly could pick it up, not to mention shitty coworkers that can’t keep a mask on their face properly.
My sister is sick with Covid again but not anywhere near as sick as when she first had it. I’m sure the vaccines helped. Her three kids and grandson that lives in Des Moines are sick right now. My oldest daughter that lives in Rochester just got over it. Her husband was sick but never tested positive and neither did their kids. My other sister and family are also sick. My second daughter and her husband, basically house bound since this started are still healthy but I think some days ready to kill each other.
Anyway, as I said for the moment I seem to be okay but who knows for how long.

Wife and I both fully vaccinated. Just retired from working at our local hospital where I screened 500-600 people a day since March 2020. Always masked obviously but many, many dickheads came through the doors unmasked and I had to get them masked before they could go any farther.
Not even a sniffle so far….
Wife runs her jewelry studio, usually masked but not every client cooperates, but she’s been fine as well!

My son was a screener at my hospital. It was his first job and he did it for nearly a year but he quit once his college classes started. He had planned on doing it part time once school started but by the end people were becoming ruder and ruder and he just didn’t want to deal with that anymore. And I agree. For all those that say masks don’t work… if you’re truly vigilant about wearing one and where you hang out they do help. |

Thanks for the kind words Other but I was doing the fluff work….. seeing those Saints coming off 12-16 hour shifts in the CCU with lifeless stares was soul crushing. God bless those nurses…. special place somewhere in the after life for all of them!
I wish every Gawd damn antivax POS could be sentenced to spend a shift in any Covid CCU in the country! If they don’t drop to their knees begging for the jab, deny any and all healthcare access to them for ever and a day, or give them to Thunder who will be armed with a Louisville Slugger.

Fuck masks. Don’t wear ‘em unless required to on flights to and from des Vaterland. Unless you’re got an N95 or KN95, what you have over your puss only identifies you as sheeple; does nothing to stop the spread. And those masks are to be worn only four hours at a time then tossed. They are NOT reusable.
Biden’s announcement that he’ll send an N95 mask to every ‘Murikan is a joke. The manufacturing sector is not set up to handle the production of millions of high-filter masks without disrupting the retail sector. Plus some of those masks are made in … you guessed it … China. They are of dubious quality and some are contaminated with chemicals that are not healthy to inhale.

I’ve spoken to some pulmonology nurses that had done rounds in the MICU that had 1000 yard stares. I would agree with you about the anti-vaxxers but just like the anti-maskers some of them are just fucking stupid which isn’t their fault and it’s not right to deny care to people just because they’re dumb. |

Now granted I haven't taken a test bince I spent an hour in a conference room with a dude who tested hot the next day back in December 2020 and I had to produce a negatory test to go back to the office, but I'm pretty sure I'm still clean. Also the antibody test I took in 2020 was just the one that showed if you had it fairly recently, so maybe I had it when I almost died in February 2020, but bince the antibody test said I was clean, I'm staying in the clean club. |
