And possibly a gin and tonic or two. For us it’ll be ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and my Dad’s homemade rolls. Apps will be relish tray w/ ranch, cheese and crackers, cheese ball, and deer sticks. Desert is a lemon tart my daughter is making as we speak. What gin are drinking these days? I picked up a bottle of Hendricks Neptunia that I’ve been enjoying.

Happy Easter probably won’t do much drinking. My daughter with the kids will come over. Trying to decide how to keep my grandkids occupied because once she comes over she reverts back to being a kid and doesn’t watch them close. But god forbid if you discipline them!
We’ll have ham, carrots, asparagus, mashed potatoes. And chicken. My husband can’t eat any kind of pork any more without digestive distress so he’ll eat chicken.

What? Can't eat pork? I'm not sure I would stick around if I had that problem. How would life still be worth living?

What? Can't eat pork? I'm not sure I would stick around if I had that problem. How would life still be worth living? Agree. This guy used to eat a pound of bacon at breakfast. Iowa chops, ham. Sausage. Everything pork. A few years ago he figured out that he couldn’t handle it. The assumption was it is the fat in it and it still could be I suppose. He had his gall bladder out in 2010 and sometimes after that people have trouble with eating anything with fat but this just started a few years ago. He can eat very low-fat ham like Fricks. He can only eat 97% fat free beef. Chicken breast is okay as long as it’s baked and not fried. Nothing deep fried. He recently discovered cheese bothers him. He can eat butter on things and peanut butter with no issues so it’s odd. I joked that maybe he got bit by the tick that makes you allergic to meat. Fortunately I don’t have that problem and we got a really good ham called Corbell or something like that. It had a half inch ring of fat around it and eating that was like butter. The ham just melted in your mouth. As an aside my doctor told me I need to be on statins after my recent cholesterol testing.

What? Can't eat pork? I'm not sure I would stick around if I had that problem. How would life still be worth living? I’ll tell you how, work with pigs for a while and you won’t ever want to eat pork again. That ‘porky’ flavor is pig shit, it permeates ever fiber of their bodies. Disgusting animals.

Wow, who would have thought that such a health nut could suffer such adverse health effects? I'm pretty shocked by this revelation.

Not a ham fan. At all. Like bacon and pulled pork and pork tenderloin but ham I can live without.
I’d rather have Easter enchiladas or some such shit.

Just for fun, we came up from Waterville instead of from Waukon.

We've looked at a few houses in Waukon. Nothing quite right for us. Seems like a nice enough town.

I enjoyed growing up there. Just no work for me in the area. Frau Siouxs family are all still in the area.
