What do ya got? Well for starters….looks like one of our receivers has crossed over to our most hate rival, Purdue. My initial read on the season was 11-1 regular season, then a second loss to Ohio taking us to 11-2, then probably a Rose Bowl victory taking us to 12-2. Now, I am thinking 2-10, but that is only if we can beat Nevada and the Jack Rabbits. I'm not ruling out 1-11 after this Jones news. I do think Northwestern will be truly atrocious, though, so that should be a W. Rutgers should be bad as well, so I pin the absolute ceiling at 4-8. We have a stretch of Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. I think we go 0-3 in that stretch and I think we lose the final four. While we get some mercy with Northwestern falling off so much talent wise, Fleck, Frost and Bielema are going to be gunning for Iowa as their "defining wins" and I think they all get them this year because the team will quit after getting shitbombed by Michigan. If you need my full on, rock solid prediction for gambling purposes, it is 4-8 with narrow wins over the shitbag OOC teams and Rutgers and Northwestern. Losses to ISU and everyone else on the conference calendar other than the two cellar dwellers. The only way this team is better than 4-8 is if Labas is the starter and is a fourth round or better NFL talent with mobility. Without Linderbaum we're gonna go back to that turnstyle blocking strategy and not even Tom Brady in his prime could succeed with that level of line play. Game 1 prediction: Iowa 17, Jack Rabbits 16.

More like iowa football 2021 Wow, that is far lower than I would have guessed. People must still be getting shitfaced out in the lots and then only drinking 2-3 beers during the game. Or maybe we are all just degenerate alcoholics. Either way, the school should ban tailgating to try to sell more beer.

Bought a 2 ticket mini pack. Is State , Northwestern and Nebraska. Decent sideline seats $480. 3 late games should be doable.

That escalated quickly... This does kinda make sense in terms of additions to the conference (TV markets, academic research institutes, etc) but are they really going to come to the upper Midwest and play in Novenmber? 9AM and 10PM kickoffs?

I could see an agreement where they can play at home 10 games... then need to make a round robin to the MW. I think a poll of BIG fans would say to let them play in LA, give us a discounted ticket allotment (and throw some weight behind getting additional flights to us smaller airport folk)... and we are good. ---Perhaps even offer up a mini RoseBowl for a few showcase games, where we split the gate.

This explains the B1G taking the schedules down earlier this year (I think).

All these changes are making me rapidly lose interest in college football. (Until the season starts.)

California knows how to party. What a boss move.
ND better get on the phone. The ACC is trash, and they ain't the SEC type.

Meh, it will depend on how good USC is. They are being brought in solely for money, and no amount of wishing to the Football Fairy is going to make a team like Wisconsin, Iowa or Michigan State drive revenue. If USC is sitting at 10-1 and ranked 4th in the country, it is probably in the best interests of the conference for whatever victim to go out there and get their ass kicked instead of having some fucking fluke weather game in Madison that USC loses 10-9 that destroys their playoff run. As Iowa fans, we are among the highest in terms of "welfare queen" status in the conference so I ain't gonna bitch too much because whatever happens here is infinitely better than the alternative of Ohio, Michigan and Penn leaving the damned conference and completely fucking us over.

7 figures for doing nothing? Nah, he committed to Ohio. That's something. Rest easy, folks. Every time you buy gas or a product that was moved using gas just know that some Texas oil man who is a fan of one of Tech, A&M or UT is going to use some portion of the money earned from that expensive gas you bought to help fund this young man's college football career.
