Any Keagan Johnson rumors flying around from the local hair dresser or a cousins maid. What's the injury? If I knew the type and nature of the injury I could tell you with about 95% accuracy. Like, if it's a high ankle sprain, forget it, he ain't playing. Hamstring

Thought you weren't going to watch or listen. Damn….. I tried, but it’s an addiction. To my credit, I didn’t watch the 3rd quarter….. it will be a process. Can someone invent a patch? Might be easier to avoid watching this week after the last performance.

What do ya got? Well for starters….looks like one of our receivers has crossed over to our most hate rival, Purdue. My initial read on the season was 11-1 regular season, then a second loss to Ohio taking us to 11-2, then probably a Rose Bowl victory taking us to 12-2. Now, I am thinking 2-10, but that is only if we can beat Nevada and the Jack Rabbits. I'm not ruling out 1-11 after this Jones news. I do think Northwestern will be truly atrocious, though, so that should be a W. Rutgers should be bad as well, so I pin the absolute ceiling at 4-8. We have a stretch of Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. I think we go 0-3 in that stretch and I think we lose the final four. While we get some mercy with Northwestern falling off so much talent wise, Fleck, Frost and Bielema are going to be gunning for Iowa as their "defining wins" and I think they all get them this year because the team will quit after getting shitbombed by Michigan. If you need my full on, rock solid prediction for gambling purposes, it is 4-8 with narrow wins over the shitbag OOC teams and Rutgers and Northwestern. Losses to ISU and everyone else on the conference calendar other than the two cellar dwellers. The only way this team is better than 4-8 is if Labas is the starter and is a fourth round or better NFL talent with mobility. Without Linderbaum we're gonna go back to that turnstyle blocking strategy and not even Tom Brady in his prime could succeed with that level of line play. Game 1 prediction: Iowa 17, Jack Rabbits 16. I am feeling food about my 4-8 ceiling on this team. I think we beat 2 B1G teams plus maybe Nevada. With the caveat that I was driving through Tennessee on Saturday and only heard the second half and didn't see a single snap, I think Petras may be Jake Christensen level of bad. This Iowa State game will dictate the entire season. If through some miracle Petras doesn't get the start and the o-line has a quantum leap maybe we get to 9-3 if we get past Iowa State, but I just don't see it. I think we lose this one 19-3 (ISU TD on a pick 6 and 4 FGs). Then, we go on to win at most 3 more games.

His QBR was 1.2 Not 12. One point fucking two. I don't doubt that he's good in practice and shined at the Manning QB camp. The brutal truth is that he's just not a gamer. He can't handle game pressure. He's probably a head case out there, and if you're a QB or kicker, that means you're totally fucked.

Again, I only listened to the game and Dolph kept saying "he had [__] wide open in the flat/down the seam/crossing over the middle" so it sounds like Brain did an okay job at actually getting guys open, but it sounds like he gets an F- as QB coach.

No clue, maybe he pulls a Charlie Jones because Petras sucks. Like I said I cant back it up. But something is up.

This sure doesn't sound promising for the worst rated QB in all of college football How fucking bad must Padilla and Labas be if they can't displace Petras? By the end of last year it was clear that Petras was somewhere between the Jakes and closer to Christensen than Rudock. The Jakes each got pulled and machinations to pull them were done in the offseason but we had Stanzi and CJB waiting to come in. We've already seen Padilla. I ain't convinced there is much there. Fuck.

I don't think in the recorded history of mankind anyone who is associated with a camp where people pay to go hone their skills has ever shit on a customer.

Pretty sure it was Bobby Hansen (and an Iowa coach) that dissuaded me away from ever playing organized Basketball.

I can't decide if this makes me feel better or just totally pisses me off. It should make you feel better. It takes quite a leader to take a group of guys from places like Larchmont and Gowrie and compiling them into a semi-competent football team.
