Who here has an EV already? Who is debating on getting one in the somewhat near future? Who is sizing up to a tiny dick F350 diesel?
I put in a order for a new Kia EV6 AWD and hopefully will be getting it in the next 3 months or less. Took a bit of talking with the wife as she wasn't a big fan of spending a bunch on a car, but I told her it was either this or a gas sucking BMW 5 series. She caved.

My gains on Exxon and Valero are enough to buy a new EV. I will not, though. I am going to hold those stonks due to the massive yield on cost I am pulling. I am ploughing all dividends into 5.56 and 7.62x39. I am confident this will outperform the gainz on stonks or bonds in the next 12 months, particularly as that Russian 7.62x39 supply dwindles to 0.

Oh, one other question. Where do they make the car you want to buy? If you buy an X5 they make them in Spartanburg. You can come down here to pick it up and get a free day at the track and then we could hit up the range and go to Twin Peaks right after. I just hope whatever you buy doesn't come off some boat and then transported clear across the US. I don't want to choke to death on your carbon footprint.

Plug in hybrid is really the only answer Agreed. All of the efforts surrounding EVs should be focused on building out PHEVs that can pull 100 miles off the charge. Range on the all electric cars doesn't fucking matter because it is going to take decades to build out charging capacity for highways and shit and until pure EV is viable for road trips it is not suitable for the average family.

Best friggin investment I've made besides my wife's engagement ring. Got the cheapest decent mileage PHEV available (for order). So far at around 3k miles, 2700 of which have been electric. Range has increased to 50 miles full electric according to the display, but actual is around the predicted 42. Combined with solar on the house & batteries, is nice as shit. Edit- I got the Escape Titanium PHEV. Link for you PHEV people. evadoption.com/ev-models/available-phevs/

EV are great for city/commuting and shorter road trips. A no brainer for that kind of usage. But I’d be real wary of trying to drive one on a long road trip. Would definitely want a backup hybrid without the range issues.

I filled up Friday for a trip to IC and drove there and back and still have a quarter tank of gas that my car said I could go another 100 miles on. That’s a 500mile round trip.

If we choose to do a long road trip there are plenty of fast chargers along the route that will get me up to 80% battery in less than 20 minutes. Most likely we'd end up using my wife's car on those until the network is expanded more though. Electrify America has the major interstates pretty well covered. Chargepoint has a bunch of other off the beaten path covered, but not all are fast chargers. I could go with a phev, but fuck most of them are slow as shit.

I can go about 200 miles before we need a 20 minute pit stop. It would work out for us on road trips. Hoping that we can do a road trip to DFW with it sometime.

Will gas prices actually "tumble"? Or will oil companies just rake in even larger record profirs?

Will gas prices actually "tumble"? Or will oil companies just rake in even larger record profirs? Depends on what natural gas does. You see, the Euros are attempting to embargo Russia, including her natural gas. But Russia has what I would colloquially refer to as a "metric fuckton" of natural gas. With the Russians not pumping nat gas through their pipeline network out to Europe, Europe is absolutely giga fucked right now and will be triply gigafucked in the winter. "O'Keefe, what the fuck does that have to do with the gas in my car?" Well, the US has the capacity to export nat gas and it has started to do so in earnest to help the Euros. This export process has driven the domestic price of nat gas up a bunch. That nat gas is a critical input in the manufacturing process of gasoline. They take a shitload of crude oil and put it in this giant furnace that gets heated up by burning natural gas. If the price of natural gas stays high as balls, the "crack spread" that the refinery gets for converting crude into petro will remain high and crude oil price decreases will have a minimal effect on gas prices.

Looks like okeefe is going to make some more money Thanks Hunter Benghazi This was done solely to ensure that their GOP pals win next month. I've been predicting this for months. I KNEW Big Oil was going to jack up gas prices to fuck over the Democrats, who they hate. If I were Biden I'd cancel all arms shipments to Saudi Arabia this very second. Brace yourselves for American Fascism, kids. The Democrats lost the election today. Get your guns cleaned up and ready to fire, they're coming for your wives and daughters. It'd be nice if the American people weren't so fucking stupid that they could figure out that the entities gouging them on gas are the same entities funding the GOP.
